Just a thought since i can't sleep.

Being a new vaper i have quickly come to the realization that vaping is a personal experience. From equipment selection to the juice everything about vaping is tailored to the individual. I became discourage when i purchased a kit in the mall (smoking everywhere) a few years back as i hated the taste of the juice. Not willing to experiment with various flavors i, like many others, went back to smoking analogs. Recently i purchased another kit and the juice was average. If it wasn't for finding an amazing brick and mortar that offered samples im sure i would have already gone back again.

My point, support your local shops as much as you possibly can because these shops have the ability to convert more people. Granted, the shops prices, supply, and knowledge need to be in order for people to be able to do so.

I have been fly fishing for many years and i remember what it was like to walk into a fly shop and get more useful information in a half an hour conversation than a weeks worth of conflicting information online. But the online companies (and big box stores) killed the local fly shops and many are no more. I hope to see the reverse happen in the vaping market. Personally i believe many more people would convert if they didn't have to spend more time, effort, and money finding juice that works for them.

Like i said, just a thought. Too much coffee. :)

Orlando has one, and it was a great experience. After I was getting frustrated with my 808D-1 kit, I went there. Within about 10m of chit chat, and holding various PVs in my hand, I opted for the eGo-C. Picked up some juice. They carry most of the popular High Caliber flavors, and I had already tried some, so I knew what I wanted. Then got a killer (or would that be Killa) flavor suggestion that I liked. Walked out the door feeling good, still on the no cigarette wagon thanks to the owners knowledge and experience. I don't think I would have fallen off the wagon if they weren't here, but I would have been a little more frustrated as I dug around online for options ... even with ECF being as good as it is, some times it's too much information at once.

Now I'm a mix of online and the store. There are 2 vendors I've ordered from online with good experience. MVS and Vapor's Choice. MVS is of course a little larger and caters to a lot of needs, VC is smaller and while he carries the various basic hardware, his juice and the prices keep me shopping there. (Okay, a 22 dollar eGo Twist 1000mah also :) )

But I know I will never be in a pinch for anything because I have the local store. While I love the crafter aspect of online juice maker/vendors ... I've grown to like a few of HC's flavors, so I patronize the store for those, and of course the various odds and ends I need. And next month the owner is helping do a vape meet/BBQ. The community aspect of it is great. They may not remember my name, but they remember me. (And a few of my posts on here). I could care less if you remember my name every time, but when you remember who I am in general, that makes a huge difference in a customer experience. I see it day in and day out working in the hospitality business. Families that visited 3 years ago come back to say hi. Do I remember their name? Sadly not always. Do they expect me to? Not usually. But do I remember key things, or at least them in general? Of course.

Okay, there's my ramble on why B&M are great :) (Well, and good online as well)

Well, being FL ... I am sure you could find a good fishing hole nearby. The "after party" which starts around 430p is probably moving to a local watering hole down the road. And it's the birthday of on of the central Florida ECF regulars, so we've got that going for us also. Now if only work would approve the day off, I would be feeling better about it.

You're looking a little flush. You might be coming down with something. I'd think about calling in, if I were you. :D

If only. I can't afford the record card notation. Got promotion potential in September. But I'll make it happen. 95% of the time I manage to find a way to be off work when I need it.

If you're worth your salt, I'm sure you'll have that day off.

That's part of the problem ... I am :) Can also make it hard to get them to let you go. The fact that I got the 2 weeks before Christmas off still amazes me slightly. :p

But sleep time. Gotta be up early tomorrow so they can crack muh back. :p

I'm not down with brick and mortar stores. About the only time I go to the store is to buy beer (local liquor stores) or toiletries at CVS. I'd say at least 95% of what I buy I get off the internet. I even order my groceries online and have them delivered.

Even if there was an e-cig store close by I wouldn't shop there unless I was in a bind and needed something right then (closest one is 30+ minutes away and over priced). I keep back ups for my back ups for my back ups so that won't happen.

Being good at what you do can be a double edged sword.

As for supporting B&M stores. While I think they're a tad bit early to the game, I fully support the supporting of such a supportive institution as a B&M vape shop....as long as they're not being run by dips***s who are charging a king's ransom for stuff.

I am going to guess being a bit early in the game depends on the size of the population you serve.

Here in San Diego, Vapure has just opened it's third store.
And on weekends, from what I hear, their first store sometimes has lines out the door.

It does depend on location, like anything else that would be considered an upstart or "niche", I guess.

AltSmoke just opened a B&M here in Columbus, and I think it will do well once word spreads. It's a cool laid back place. Buy a little gear (though you don't have to), try some liquids, and then grab a cold drink out of the cooler, cop a squat on the couches, and watch some TV...or read, or whatever have you.

I will be going to the Orlando meet and it will be the first time I will have visited the store. Quite looking forward to it.

Have been to a couple of flea market stalls in the past, ok not great.

Vapestock the other weekend, get to a large meet if you can they are awesome.

But on the whole reading a lot of this site, asking questions and on line stores. Have done the actually not so hard to get Eastern Euro mods to ProVape to Mad Vapes and they are all great to deal with.

While I have the utmost respect for local stores if you are buying attys who better to ask a question of then Cisco? Reactor tank from nHaler Drew? Buzz Pro? Mike?

They all support their products here. Most store from what I have seen have the generic Chinese Ego, 510 and juice ranges. Which are great and work but lack that bit of individuality that the store mentioned have.

Do what works for you. You can't by the wrong PV if it works for you, same as juice etc. it is is keeping you off cigs it is the right option.

I've been to the one in Oceanside. PV's and what they carry is kinda limited but i have been checking out the Juice.

P.S. no vendors or anything at the Del Mar Fair? WTH LOL:shock:

Yeah, I'm not so sure a brick and mortar is always going to be much good for folks like us.

The store in Oceanside was carrying Egos, Lavatubes, and also had an Ovale Elips for some reason.
But just the combination of Ego and Lavatube alone is enough to get just about anyone off cigarettes.

And that's where I think the brick and mortars can really shine, by helping more people make a succesful switch.

I absolutely agree.

You will never see me knock the Ego, LavaTube or 510 as they are the bedrock of vaping in opening peoples eyes to what is possible.

In my case it was an Ego C that will never leave my possession. Ok I don't use the C part anymore but the battery's are used on a semi regular basis. Four months in and still stunned that making an online order and waiting 3 days led me to go from 25 cigs a day to 1, then upping nic killed even that one.

SOOOO loved smoking as well lol Oh well life moves on.

I guess my comments are more for the person that has had their eyes opened to vaping and in search of that elusive next step rather than the starter, should of you know read the thread lol

esmoker deals in genuine Joyetech, so at least you do know what you're getting there. And they stand behind their products. One of my batteries went wonky the first week. Walked in, explained what went wrong, walked out with a replacement. No waiting for mail or anything.
