I can't help with the international legs, but on US domestic flights, your mods and batteries have to go in your carry-ons. Lithium batteries are not allowed in checked baggage. I've also brought 120 ml bottles of juice in my carry-on and they were never questioned (technically 120 ml bottles of liquid aren't allowed since the limit is actually 100 ml).
