British American tobacco reports .4% decline in cigarette volume in first six months of 2014, including an 8.7% decline in Western Europe (from 57 Billion to 52 Billion sticks), 1.5% decline in the Americas, 4% increase in Asia-Pacific, and .9% increase in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

Please note that BAT doesn't sell cigarettes in the US, and that Canada and Brazil have banned e-cig sales.
Notice that cigarette volumes have been declining most rapidly in Western Europe (and the US), where e-cig sales have skyrocketed.
Would be helpful if someone compared cigarette volume declines (e.g. during the past three years) in countries where e-cigs have been banned compared to countries where e-cigs are legal (and largely unregulated). Doing so would reveal that banning e-cigs only protects cigarette markets and threatens the lives of smokers and vapers.
