So, we all know what Europe wants to do to E-Cigs...but thankfully, a lot of MEPs from many countries are now standing up against this change to the status of E-Cigarettes. They have finally come to realize that these are life saving products for many, many people. Here is a short video of British MEP Chris Davies battling against the legislation. The man agreeing with him in the back right is Swedish MEP Christofer Fjellner.

So, I received an e-mail today from Jacqueline Frost MEP for the North West of the United Kingdom. She is now fighting hard against the EU bill to include E-Cigarettes as a medicinal product. She asked if I would be willing to write down a quote for local newspapers, as well as for her to take to the EU Parliament when it comes time for the vote in July. Hopefully they will be able to squash this idiocy before it even begins.

Here is the quote that I sent to her:

"Limiting the amount of nicotine in E-Cigarettes to 4mg/ml would effectively be a ban. Also, forcing the removal of flavour would remove one of the biggest barriers to regular tobacco. As such, this is taking away peoples rights to live. It forces people, who are addicted to nicotine and the ritual there of, to chose a product that will kill them. Not only that, but, in doing so, governments around Europe are choosing to ensure that the current burden on our respective health services is maintained at its current levels, costing governments and the tax payers many millions a year. Further, this act would allow the tobacco industry to continue peddling a poisonous product to the public, without fear of competition, killing millions of people every year. So the choice is simple, vote for the reclassification of E-Cigs and have blood on your hands, or vote against it and give people the right to chose between life and death."

With the 4mg Nicotine content rule. I was thinking wouldn't it be very easy to add alcohol to the juice to make it to the right mg that the buyer wanted? Like you buy your 50ml bottle of 4mg juice, go home, pour out your juice in a bowl, the alcohol evaporates and then you have 20mgs of 18mg juice? Just a thought (possible loophole)? I can't be the only one who has thought of this...

I can hear a huge cheer from all over the EU. I have had a number of positive reactions from my MEPs. A couple are just against ALL EU legislation but lets have any support we can get.
I wish we could get the non smokers involved to add more pressure but the negative publicity has already got to them. Commonly I hear "oh they have carcinogens the same as stinkies" and "oh the liquid is in antifreeze". I fix them pretty quickly but I wish we could get organised enough to take full page ads in the papers. Maybe I will do it on Internet and see if it flies.

This is what confuses me. 4mg/ml would be the same as 40 mg/10ml, AKA 40mg, wouldn't it? I realize some people have had access to 45 but most folks vape 18-36 with a few in the 6-12 range, right?

So...what am I missing? (I had heard before that it was supposed to be 4mg per instance with instances being more like 2-3ml, which would be a whole 'nother story!)

" Also, forcing the removal of flavour would remove one of the biggest barriers to regular tobacco. "

The common strengths at this time are:

0 nicotine
6mg (6mg/ml) - 0.6%
12mg - 1.2%
18mg - 1.8%
24mg - 2.4%
30mg - 3%
36mg - 3.6%
45mg - 4.5%

4mg is between 6mg (the lowest strength commonly sold) and 0 nicotine. It would be a useful strength for someone that normally vaped 0 nic but needed a tiny bit of nic occasionally.

4mg would not be much use to people who need 45mg - which according to some clinical researchers is a proportion of beginners starting out with a mini ecig (as beginners with a mini have been shown in several clinical trials to have zero or very little nicotine in the bloodstream when using 12mg - 18mg refills).

Yeah, I had read an obviously-incorrect factoid someplace a year ago and it stuck in my brain. Why can't something more useful stick there?

The issue is BP wants to kill us, everything else is details -- like I said on the California forum, it's like playing the old Atari "space invaders" game the way they keep coming and coming, and getting faster, and closer.....
