Hey guys, maybe you can help me choose my next battery (or 2). I'm on kind of a budget, I'd prefer to spend around $50-$150, but my mind might change. I realllyyy loved my eVic, so if I don't end up just replacing the control head for that, I'd like to get something similar. I loved how it showed the Ω resistance of my coils and how it was VW/VV, but my biggest dislike was probably the amp/watt limit.

I've been building microcoils for my protank for months now, so I'm thinking maybe I should get a mechanical-mod, along with a dripper like the Igo-W/L/S, so I can really start experimenting with my coil builds... and mayyyybee a cheap backup like a Vision Spinner 1300mah to go with it?

I've only had my eVic for 7 months, I was pretty rough with it and it was a sturdy battery. Dropped it many times, even dropped it in the toilet for a split second a month ago and it still worked after taking it apart and putting it in rice. It's also in pieces in a bag of rice as I type this, it fell from my coat pocket into a snow back (tank first, bottom sticking up). I couldn't get it to turn back on after I dried it off, like i could last time this happened.
..... I may even just end up buying a new control head for the eVic, and a 1300mah Vision Spinner just for backup. My first battery was a knockoff of that Spinner and I loved it too. But I was also thinking maybe - Zmax, Vamo, iTaste or even a Reo (I'd have to get over the square-look), probably not a Provari unless I win the lottery? Any advice??

Oh also, this ? might belong in the eVic section - but when cleaning off my battery tube, I accidentally pushed that white ring in, the separates the battery from the control head. It fell inside the battery tube. It goes right back in place when I put the battery back in the tube, but it isn't glued/attached there like it was before. Could this be why my eVic won't turn on??
:) Thanks guys!

For less than $50 you can get a stainless steel Vamo. The Vamo does VV and VW and has a readout for remaining battery voltage, coil resistance, and power settings. Until you're ready for a higher priced mod, it'll do the job. Just be sure to get the stainless steel version.

For a mod with a built-in battery (non-removable), a lot of people like the Innokin MVP-2, also for less than $50.

Good luck with the search!

Remove the disc and see if the eVic turns on. You may have it holding the battery back from the contact pin.
The disc is nice but actually not necessary.
It also should snap in place from the top.(looking at my 18350 tube)

Oh, my 2 are over a year old now and practically like new.:)

Also - Clean eVic positive pin with alcohol
Scuff if needed with an emery board or fine sandpaper
With Battery detached, press and hold Fire button for 30 seconds

There are many Good Mods on the market. Ultimately it will all come down to what you are really interested in and what features you prefer.

Thanks for the tips everyone, the Vamo is a high possibility, but I would like something that fires below 1.2ohm. My evic fired down to 1.1... But I was checking out the Vamo V5's last night, I heard they scratch easy, stainless steel won't do this?

And crxess, thanks for the tip!! I was hoping it would turn on after sitting in a bag of rice overnight, but no luck. I'll try taking the disc off now. And you mean clean the pin on the control head, right? And is there a possibility it could be my actual battery the broke?

I Am happy with my SmokTech SiD. I don't mind the single button menu, and this one is pretty responsive. It was easy to get the hang of it. I've only had it a week. It was $55 (+50 if you count the 2 efest 2Ah high drains and i4 charger). From what I understand its similar to the Max's/vamo, but I could be wrong. PBusardo sold me on it - check out his review.
This is my first APV so I have no experiance with how it stands up to the others. I think it has a 1.5 ohm limit on it too though. PBusardo has all the details :)

The SID is a one button mod with VAMO electronics sitting on an eVic tube. eVic tubes are interchangeable with the SID.

I don't have an evic, so I don't know for sure, but it saw a reviewer try it, and use the evic tube on the Sid, and it didn't work because of some extra part the evic has on the top of the battery tube. Pbusardo screwed the tube from the evic onto the Sid, so the threads are the same, but I didn't see him operate the device in that configuration.
