Broken aspire nautilus upper hardware

Ah, i was using a stainless steel tank it tipped over and landed on the drip tip which seperated the upper hardware and chimney. everything else was fine it was just the upper hardware. problem has now been resolved as i replaced it by buying a hollowed out tank whilst i wait on delivery of a new upper hardware part ( and a lower part so ill have a spare to use on the hollowed out tank) from aspire. i dont use the glass tanks, if i can replace them with sturdier steel tanks i do since im forever breaking things.

Potential Fix!

I had the exact same failure occur on my Mini Nautilus.

I just dismantled the Upper Hardware portion and it *appears* to be a press fit in the area that came apart.

To Fix: I 're-pressed' the two components back together using my bench vice as a press and *gently* squeezed the two pieces back together. Upon reassembly, the Upper Hardware remains together and passes my 'wiggle it apart' testing.

PLEASE NOTE: as you screw down the Upper Hardware to the glass portion, it pushes up against this press fit! So the harder you tighten it, the more you are pushing apart this joint! I see this a key design flaw, but besides this niggle, I really love this unit.

ALSO NOTE: the provided instructions explicitly say to NOT over-tighten the unit. My general approach of 'more is better' was probably the root cause of this 'failure'.
