Center pin is the main issue.
Just in case, also make sure you do not have Protected batteries for either the Vamo or SVD. That can cause issues also that could lead folks to think it's a center pin issue, or even make the functions unreliable.

May still need cleaning. One would assume they use cutting oil when in the threader. Heck, I've found oils and other crud in brand new clearos, so wash them all before first use...
