Brushed Brass: Harder to tarnish?

I love the look of brass but it tarnishes so easily. If it's brushed, does it get rid of that problem, at least partially? If that's the case, can I polish up a brass mod I already have and then give it a brushed finish and it'll have the same effect as a brass mod that was brushed to begin with? Thanks in advance!

Nope it does not get rid of or delay the oxidizing. Try some Flitz or Simichrome metal polish - this stuff works great on chrome valve covers on engines and bike exhaust systems so it should work well on a mod.

I don't have a brushed brass anything, but I'd imagine it would tarnish just the same as polished brass, maybe the crevices would take a bit longer to tarnish, but they would. I'd also imagine it woud be harder to clean the tarnish off than it would be with a polished surface, at least until it was polished smooth, then it would clean up just like it was polished in the first place. I don't know, I only have polished brass and I rarely clean it. I don't mind the tarnished look. What you could do is laquer it, probably a better answer.
