Thats what I was thinking, just wanted to verify. OP, there really isn't much else you can do with 22 gauge, that I know of, other than just some macro-coil(s). The problem is it's just such thick, low-resistance wire that it limits the builds you can do. Maybe someone creative will come by who thought of something.
Not a fan of 22ga myself, but if you aren't already running one, you could run a 5 wrap sleeper. I'm noticing a bit of spacing between your wraps though, definitely try to get it nice and tightly wrapped and even all the way through, that will help.
I just had it on my sigelei for the picture! Yeah I just tightened squeezed the coils together after the picture. But I'm using a smpl mech mod.
It came out to be .16 ohms. I like to tinker so I wanted to see if anyone has done something different with 22 gage.
This is exactly why I asked what mod. Be careful building that low on a mech. Why not just use it on your Sigelei?
I agree Cullin. Juan Vazquez, after battery voltage drop in the mech mod you're limited to about 85 watts and that will go down as the battery drains. With 20 amp batteries in the Sigelei you can get to 100 watts if you want to and the power won't change as the batteries drain.
If you're looking for just a fun build, I like the stove-top builds occasionally. Fun to look at, easy to wick, and produce good flavor. This guy is a little too "Guy Fieri" for me, but his info is good.
Honestly if you go to 24 gauge wire you'll have way more options. Also like @CRizzo7 linked, watch Rip Trippers. You'll get a lot of ideas for building, which is how I started building more difficult coils and got more into building as a whole.
Sometimes i like to parallel 22 gauge with twisted 26 or 28 gauge. You could even twist 22 gauge itself with another 22 or a couple of thinner gauges if your post holes allow it.
