Building a steampunk mod, need design feedback

So I am going to build a Steampunk mod that will operate off of a single 18650 protected battery, and will be mechanical. The attached picture explains the design, and I will apply the same design concepts as I did to my eGo sleeve:

I thank you for the compliment! i did think of glass but i dont have the means to work it. I always want to make it look like it does something... not "glue some gears on it and call it steampunk" (search that in youtube... hilarious)

I cant advertise on ecf as I am not registered as a supplier. But you could check out steampunkvapors on facebook where I post progress pics of in progress pieces.

My only suggestion is to not have any parts that are copper colored. Copper can't handle the pressures fo most steam-powered machines, and is totally inappropriate for "steampunk" IMO. It's like building something that is supposed to be medieval, and using carbon-fiber sheeting.

Other than thatm your sketch is pretty spiffy...

I see your point... my only thought is that every mod out there is either aluminum chrome or steel. Copper seems to me a tad bit more antique-y looking. Especially when properly tarnished. Plus its a helluva lot easier to work and find pre fab parts at the hardware store. Just sayin.... oh and thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it all. :)

I sooo need one of those. When I worked at ren faire I got told I couldn't vape because it was "anachronistic". But steampunk is allowed and I don't see how they could deny one of those mods! Besides, well I just want to have one. : D

Sounds like you went to one of those high falutin kinda ren faires. The ones where you either dress period or not at all. That seems no fun. I went to one where a guy was in full scottish kilt and converse.

Well if I was just attending it would have been fine. But I was working. :( The owners were very anti cigarette so me and a bunch of other employees switched to vaping. And then of course, they got on us saying we couldn't vape during work days (which are very long with few breaks) as well. Typical anti-nicotine people god forbid we get our fix.

Those draconian ren faire bosses, regular slave drivers. :)

I was kidding about the button, but second the comfort in hand idea. When you pick it up you don't really have to touch the stand portion, but you will be squeezing the tubes together, hence the extra support. And smooth hand surfaces.
