I'm still on my first....

I did it on my first 8. Well, did have a couple quite good builds that I decided to vape on for a day or two. But I'm always restless, always feel like I can do a better one. I also promised a video demo/review, so I'm trying to MASTER this thing so I don't look like an idiot, and I do learn something new every time. I also admit that I really enjoy building them - its relaxing to me. My dad used to disappear into the basement and tie fly fishing lures under a magnifying glass, probably for the same reason.

If obsessively rebuilding becomes a habit, be sure to order new wire and wick SOON. I'm currently stuck, totally out of NR wire, waiting for the postman to bring me supplies to keep practicing.

I made well over 20 just to get the hang of it. Things I discovered are:

1) twisting the wires works well, silver crimps do not work so well for me. I use semi soft silver 30ga for NR and it works better for me than the dead soft which has a habit of snapping if you're not super gentle with it
2) I prefer the 36 ga RW (COV stuff) over the 75 feet of 32ga I bought on Ebay. Can't do 3 ohms on 32GA so far. 36GA allows me to build a 3ohm that I fire at 7.4v and it hits like Deniro's bat in the Untouchables...
3) The stock wick is the best I've ever tried. Bruce, bring in a few truck loads
4) The longest time I've had a wick for was one straight week and it fired like a champ. I removed it to dissect the thing not because it failed
5) The Ody is the only atty I've used that brings out flavors. I was a tank guy for a long time. For the heck of it, I tried a tank a few days ago and it was bland. I could never go back to that.
6) if you overfill the Ody, it does leak but if you fill it properly, it's better than sex
7) SS mesh in other atty's gave me a cough and the "other" atty would occasionally pop like a firecracker in my mouth. The Ody is better than sex (did i mention that already?)
God Bless and have a great New Year

AGREED! I was actually kind of nervous to try the Ody, because I felt like I was very spoiled after getting used to COV's Dual Coil Atomizers (the 1.5ohm). Those things were far and away the best flavor producers I'd ever tried. IMHO, the Ody matches its ability to deliver robust flavor, but also adds a level of thickness to the vapor that makes it even better.

For a long time (almost a year), I was a CE2 nut - loved CE2 tanks. I felt like they gave the ultimate flavor with adequate TH. (filler based dual coil cartos seemed to give good TH, but very little flavor, and I prefer flavor) I also went back, and fired up my trusty CE2 tank the other day, and wow, how did I love it for so long? Bleh. Boring.

If you wear glasses, these help quite a bit when wrapping the coil. Even spacing and consistant tightness in the wraps are easy to see. Heck, if I didn't wear glasses I would get a cheapo reading glasses and take out the lenses just so I could use the loupe.

5 bucks at Harbor Freight

Excellent information and awesome glasses! The NR wire is so soft and it breaks at the loop if you fiddle with it. Does anyone know a supplier site for a spool and what gauge do you guys reccomend?

Amazon and Ebay both have it. Google semi soft silver 30 GA wire
