Man I'm really bummed out. I have a really big car show going on tomorrow and my custom etched BP is not working. My custom BP has a really cool chevy bowtie with the year and model of my truck on it. It's tuxedo black and chrome to match my tuxedo black and chrome K5 Blazer. I put it away about a month or two ago just so I would know it would be in working order for the show. Well I pulled it out tonight loaded batts and, blue/red. I'm confused because It worked perfectly when I carefully put it away. I cleaned the contact inside, made sure the bottom cap area is clean, I pulled the top cap to check the wire, it's fine. Is there anything else I can do to get it going. HELP ack...lol

Ahh hell Blazer :( I'm guessing you metered your batts and/or know they are working in another mod? Might try swabbing the top cap with alcohol.

ETA: 5C, I think he means he's getting the red/blue together, as in a short :(
Exactly Bov, with or without a carto/tank. And I cleaned everything very well.

I still have to drive about 15 miles and help my SIL trailer an old car he bought. In the rain and dark after babysitting his boy all day. Mom broke her foot so I got the duty.

I would investigate the top cap. Pull out the center post and make sure it's clean and that both insulators are good. The red/blue does mean short.

K5 is it red blue at the same time? Mine sat for a while, when I pulled it out I got red then blue when I hit the button. I cleaned the thread on the top cap and it fired right up.... hope yours will be that easy.

Well, I figured I'd go over everything again this morning before I take off for the day. I cleaned all threads and still get redblue, I have to think it will be going to the hospital at this point for a pcb transplant. I'm still scratching my head on why a perfect working unit can go bad in storage. Thanks again folks for all the input.
