1 week into this vaping adventure, my only issue is getting a burnt taste. I know what can cause it. Dry burns. Wick not keeping up with chain vaping. I try not to do any of that. Atty started tasting burnt, no biggie, wanted to order a cisco anyway. But now my nice ceramic cartomizers are doing it too. One tasted so bad I gave up on it. Filled a new one and let it sit overnight cuz I had a cold and wasn't vaping anyway. Tasted amazing after having all night to soak up. Then after less than a days use, the taste returns. Tried to top if off, it only took about half a mL before it was full. This is on a mega carto which can hold close to 2mL, so I hadn't even used it that much. I try to give the wick time to keep up. 3 to 4 hits in a row at most. I pop off the seals and drip a drop or two onto the coil. It masks the taste for a few hits but eventually I taste it again. I'm sure ill end up dripping with the cisco more than anything else, but cartos would be nice for driving and social events. And I hear cleaning or boiling the cartos won't solve this since a burnt wick is a burnt wick and doesn't go away. Could it have anything to do with the juice? My light colored jager bomb flavor in a separate carto has tasted fine for days. Darker colored thin mint is what I've used in the two cartos that now taste like junk. Am I don't something wrong or what? Id like my cartos to at least last a week or two otherwise ill be spending as much as I did on analogs.

What PV and atomizer are you using?

Why are you dry burning already in the first week? You shouldn't be doing that yet -- not until your atomizer starts decreasing in performance. I think you're right. I think you're burning your equipment up prematurely. In part 1 of your post, are you using a cart or dripping? If cart, try a straw mod or highping mod; sounds like your juice isn't falling to the coil.

On a cartomizer, you have to let it sit for a while. I think you're going to be okay if you just slow down a little on the filling. I can't answer your thin mint juice question. I DIY my own juice, so it is a super high quality that doesn't yield funky taste fluctuations.

You're not supposed to throw your cartos away. When they're "color me gone," you're supposed to remove the outer sock to get more mileage out of it.

Welcome to ECF, don't give up, just slow down a little and let the juice soak into the cartos. Would help if you used the condom refill method. Or at least it did for me. Good luck.

i only meant that I know dry burns can cause the problem. I didn't mean I was doing it with my equipment. I have an inferno with volcano brand mega cartos. The first time I filled carts, I went by advice I had read to let them sit for 30 mins at least. This cart that is tasting bad now, as I said above, probably had 20 hours to soak because I was sick and not vaping yesterday. I never fill them and vape right away. I let it soak for a while.

I'm not using regular carts. I was dripping onto the regular atty and then started using these cartomizers. Didn't have too many problems with the atty actually, mainly the cartomizers that are troubling me. They hold 2ml of juice and I'm a light vaper. If I'm burning these up I can't imagine how a heavy vaper can get by. Like I said, on a brand new carto that soaked overnight, it was tasting crappy in one evening of usage.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. Well, your start-up equipment is better than most start up with. I had so many frustrations that I mainly drip now. But yes, the dripping while driving is not good -- definitely carto time. Sheesh, I'm surprised I haven't crashed and burned already. Don't tell anybody, but I drip and drive - my bad.

I like your signature block. Congratulations on your being smoke free now. Feels good, doesn't it? Wait til you get your tastebuds back, you'll get fat b/c food suddenly tastes pretty good, LOL.
