Burned juice - is it me or the VV?

I dunno what to think. I used to use Royal Smoker 3.0 ohm CE2's and loved them at 5 volts. Now finding RS 3,0 ce2's are very hard to do. So I got my LavaTube and some 2.8-3.0 ohm XL fluxomizers as well as some 2.5 ml Vision Deux 2.8 - 3.0 ohm CE2's.

It seems I need to turn the Lavatube down to 4.2 so the juice won't burn. That's Crazy. 4.8 v I can see if the CE2 is at the 2.8 ohm lower end. I'm using mostly 50/50 blend of pg and vg. I'm not getting the high voltage vape i like though I can "make it work" by turning down the voltage - I should not have to do that. 4.8 or 5.0 is supposed to work.

Still don't have a meter yet to check the output. I want to try 4.2 ohm CE2's or higher but no one makes them. I Only like Ce2 type atties. ( I will try a dual coil Ce2)

The basic problem I see with the LT technology is that it protects us from ourselves. So turning down the voltage has shown in tests to actually allow you to hit the sweet spot and avoid the capped output in the protection circuitry. You seem to understand the wattage because you speak of ohms and volts... when the LT hits a certain output in watts it puts you in to the Kindergarten mode and protects you more than you need to be protected. When you turn the settings down to a wattage the device can output safely it will actually output more power than if you max the device out.

I have a meter but not a loaded voltage display so I haven't based this on personal research just reviews and personal hours of experimentation.

Dual Coils don't help this because it increases required output in watts. I can vape a train from my single coil 3.0 cartos on the LT but get a pittance from the 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos. I take that same 1.5 ohm carto to a SB with an 18650 IMR and boom, vapage returns. My solution has been to stick with single coil high resistance on the LT and buy a 4.8 volt battery for my SB for those times I need more.

Hope this info doesn't repeat what you already know and is useful.

BTW I use my CE2 on my LT (2.8ohm) and find it more satisfying on a plain old 18650. YMMV

Ya know.. I just loaded up some 3.0 - 3.2 CE2's in metal bodies Royal Smoker brand (i don't like to use them because I can't see the juice) and they vape fine at 4.8 - 5.0 volts on the LT.. just don't get good flavor but no burned juice.

Seems everyone is stopping carrying Royal Smoker brand yet, I'm finding they are working best and more truer to the stated Ohm rating.

I am also using my regulated 5 volt mod to compare. I understand about the voltage/ohm/watts protection circuit of the LT but I would not think a 2.8-3.0 ohm atty could cause it to kick in at 5 volts.

I'm starting to think both the Vision Duex and the Fluxomisers are badly rated. ( perhaps they are both made by MIT?) They also burn on the 5 volt mod but the metal body 3.0-3.2 ohm does not.

I'm going to order some 3.0-3.2 clear tube CE2's from the same company I got the metal body tubes from. - also Royal Smoker.
