I have a Provari 2.5 and an Aspire nautilus tank. I'm using a 1.8 ohm dual coil and vaping at 3.5 volts. I seem to burn out a coil in about three days, but was under the impression they'd last longer than that. Is my voltage too low and I'm flooding the coil? This is the only thing I can think of. At any rate, it's better than my old MVP, Protank 2 rig-that would only last 2 days. Any help would be appreciated!

What type of juice are you using... brand, flavor, PG/VG ratio?

When you say "burn out" do you mean the coil quits functioning completely or is just getting gunked up with burnt juice and not functioning effectively?

More info can help diagnose what you've got going on...

I agree. PT2 lasting 2 days; Nautilus lasting 3? It doesn't matter if you are using a ProVari or MVP, something else is going on.

Does the flavor taste burnt?

Exactly!!

If you are using a very sweet flavor or a dark juice like certain coffee flavors. These are normal conditions and gunk up quickly. Meaning you should clean and dry burn the coil more frequently... plus expect to replace/rebuild more frequently.

Another consideration as well... getting frequent dry burns could be a wicking problem that can easily be solved like removing flavor wicks in a protank or I've seen some where just adjusting how you draw on the tank can resolve some issues.

Probably the flavor. I tend to use sweet, albeit light color, juices to increase flavor. The 24mg nicotine does tend to negate the taste. I've read that I can clean the coils, being that they still function yet taste alkaline. Yet I have never read a very descriptive explanation. I hasten to just run the coil under tap water, dry it and then put it back in my tank for fear of damage.

Don't worry too much about damaging the coils. Many folks rinse with hot water... some soak in Vodka or PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol) then dry and then dry burn them to remove the gunk remaining on the coil. Most of these coils were designed to be disposable... use it then replace it. People discovered ways to clean them and thus get a lot more usage before replacement is necessary.

Search youtube for videos on how to dry burn your coil type. It's real simple and can extend the coil life considerably.
