Burning Sensation After Couple Of Drags

Hi,

I just got a Riva and am vaping a 36MG juice. I get a burning sensation in my mouth and tongue after a couple of hard drags. Is this normal or is my juice too strong?? If I don't vape 36 MG then I dont get enough throat hit. Any suggestions??

36mg juice may be too strong, but another possibility is that you may be having a reaction to PG or the juice flavor, for that matter. What PG/VG mix and flavor of juice are you using?

The two most common things that can go wrong in e-liquid making, from my own mistakes, are:

1. A metallic taste
2. A peppery after-taste

In some cases that pepper after-taste can be really strong, and it's possible you have a badly-mixed batch of liquid there.

I found in my early vaping days, before I figured out my PG issues, that high nic combined with PG can make for me a rather painful experience after a while. Eventually it lead to mouth sores, and my mouth would burn in very localized regions after a hit. Switching to VG juices solved this entirely. I've done the experiment several times, and in my mind it is correlative, with PG being the causative factor. Recently, after getting my first 5V PV, I found that my sensitivity to PG is even more pronounced, probably from the increased heat of the vapor. just my .
