Well last Friday I finally got my hands on some CE4s at 1.8 Ohms and some LR 510 Boges. A long with that purchase I got some eLiquids; all of them either 18mg or 24mg nicotine.

I'm a Newb for sure; and I take all of this with a grain of salt. Being a learning experience and learning what does and does not work for me.

I of course bought an eGo-T 900mAh starter kit and Abandoned Joyetech's Tank System after a week - constant non-resolvable leaking issues.

I came to some conclusions:

Now my Observation is vaping Liquids with 24mgs and at 1.8ohms, of the CE4s, and Boge 510LR Cartos at ~2.0ohms, and up, are too HARSH for me - don't know how anybody else could really hang with them. Since according to Joyetech the new eGos are 3.3 Volts. Using them with a 1.8ohm anything yields about 6.05 Watts total, not particularly high. But I did find that Wattage with the 24mg juice too Harsh to the point where it Burned the Back of My throat. Even to the point where if I wake up the next day or not vape for four or so hours something that I'm use to like an 18mg at Standard Resistance is Too Harsh.

In other words I literally Injured my throat; how can this be?

Also, I bought a Five pack of the CE4s and used four or them the first night I got them. The next morning each of the CE4s were producing DRY HITS. This too didn't help the burning of the back of my throat. Especially when I was trying to Clear them to get them back to proper good and heavy Vapor production. Needless to say I couldn't get these CE4s to return to how well they were hitting the first night I used them - what a bummer.

I looked up some videos on youtube to see how to clean the CE4s out. Eventually I pulled the heads out and cleaned the Coils with water and Dry-Burning them. They all seem to be clean but I'm waiting until at least tomorrow to see if they work right.

I used the Final CE4 from the pack and it is working very well. Putting some 18mg DeKang Coconut eJuice in the last CE4 I'm unable to vape it due to the pain of the back of my throat. I was using the same combination the first night and it worked perfect; it was one of the only combinations that worked perfect and was nowhere near harsh or hot.

I'm totally bummed out about this new situation.

I just proven to myself that using the eGo with low resistance and Higher Concentration eLiquids isn't the way to go for me.

So it looks like Standard Resistance hovering around say 2.4ohms is where I'll be. I've been using some Cartos I bought pre-filled from a tobacco store, Brand 'Green Smart Living'. These at the moment are the only way I can use my eGo and not get pain from vaping. I will be taking it easy or the next several days.

I wish not to throw any of my 24mg liquids away so I'm looking for a way to thin them out by mixing them with something else - perhaps some NO NIC Liquid?

Would anybody else have the same issue at some point?

Any suggestions? What did you do to remedy this?

Where you least expect it....
Sorry to hear about your troubles.

You might not be consuming enough liquids. Which can dry your throat and make it seem like the vapor is too harsh. Also sounds like 18 and 24mg is a bit too much for you. They are meant for vapers that smoked about a pack a day of regular strength cigarettes. If you smoked lights or ultralights than this is another factor to be considered.

Lowering the nic by cutting it, is definitely a route that should be investigated. Best to ask people here but, personally I would create a thread:

DIY E-Liquid

(Just note that cutting it will effect the flavor. I would try 12mg next to see if that suits your needs)

CE anything has to be inverted every 5 drags or so to keep the wick/coil saturated. If it's dry then yes, it will give you dry hits. Another possible choice to is get some cartomizers. Which is fairly popular amongst a lot of vapers.

May have hit the nail on the head with the lack of Liquids.

I'm my father's Primary Caregiver, he has Pancreatic Cancer. I tend to burn the candle at both ends and usually get less than four or five hours sleep per day - most of that being napping. Along with that I know I'm not drinking enough water - pardon my french but that is for damn sure.

Its funny my dizziness and such didn't start until the morning after I got all my new Liquids and my CE4s and Boge Cartos. As far as I know all these liquids are PG so I may be developing an allergy. May have to switch to 100% VG? Where's that Boba's Bounty at? Gee Whiz.

Oh and it's more than just the Coconut eJuice, I bought about 30mls of their Strawberry, some Grape and Cotton Candy. Just that the Coconut shines on through as my new favorite which impressed me the most. Cotton Candy was a real big let down.

How much more difficult is VG to work with since it's so much thicker?

Any other suggestions?

I suspect that you are getting drier hits than you imagine. Clearomizers are notorious for slow wick feed. When you lay down the ecig on it's side (a must for clearos) make sure the wick is saturated in the juice inside the tube. Take a hit or two without pressing the fire button here and there. The vacuum will aid in feeding the wick.

24mg is quite strong so I recommend you try something lower such as 9mg since the nicotine ratio is different between vapor and real tobacco.

As mentioned, you could be allergic to PG or VG, but another factor is the flavor in the juice. Most of the juice I have purchased is simply way to strong and causes coughing or a sore throat. I now mix my own juice and use 1/4 o the flavor of premised juice, no more coughing, vaping is smoother.

Some people vape straight PG+VG+Nic with no flavor at all. Give it a try to determine if the problem is a result of the added flavors. If still no good, try straight PG, straight VG, and PG/VG with no Nic and go from there.

I get harsh hits that hurt my throat if my stuff's not wicking well. I'll tap the sides of the tank, etc. But find that sucking air through it w/o using the power can get the stuff down there, often flooding it. That said, this only happens when I have wicking problems.

If there's a slight, or significant, burnt flavor even after the vape smooths out, then you burnt your batting (like burning a cig filter.) I used the spin method when I used cartos, even when refilling, unless I was just "three drop topping off" every few minutes. I nabbed a sock like finger puppet from my daughter and attached a lanyard to it. Worked great, but a little doofy sitting on my desk at the office.

I never had an issue with dehydration issues, but maybe I just drink enough anyhow. Allergy, yeah, I'd test that out. But bear in mind that the VG is some thick stuff and if you're having feed problems, it'll actually make it worse. I had to get away from pure VG since I was destroying my hardware.

I just might be switching to VG if indeed I am allergic to PG - which brings me to seek-out a better solution from the device-end to deliver what I seek.

I just put some 18mg PG DeKang French Pipe juice into one of my working CE4s - literally kicking my .... with the throat hits. Good and strong but not necessarily burning.

I will let some Analog users try out my eGo with the CE4 setup. Had some 18mg Strawberry in it today and just about every analog smoker was like "Wow that's Strong"! So I will probably be moving down to some 12mg Juices soon at the LR Ohms I'm at @The moment. I think I can swing 18mgs when using Standard Resistant Attys and Cartos at around with 3.3 to 3.7 amp devices.

One more suggestion......take slow, easy, light draws. Not like smoking a cig at all, take the vapor into your mouth and then inhale if desired...:)

I started at 24mg, and upped it to 30mg then 36mg to beat the cravings, using 50/50 PG/VP mix and never had a sore throat from vaping. I've lowered it back to 20-25mg now, but still take slow easy draws.
