SO I made a small sample of Lemon/Lime Cooler from the TFA. It was amazing. Of course I wanted more. Here are the small details of the mix

85/15 PG/VG
TFA Lemon/Lime Cooler @10%
10mg Nic

I made a large 80ml bottle of this. Was patient and let it steep for a week and a half. Loaded up my Vivi Nova and it was magic... for a few hits. Then, BURNT PLASTIC with a touch of lime. I swore up and down it was wicking issues.. So, I tested a 3.2ohm smok Carto this morning on my Vtube... Same taste. The bottle I made this in is the "milky" soft plastic. I have some of the clear, hard plastic bottles, but I was afraid it might crack those..

Is there anything I can do to salvage this, or is it just a dump down the drain and start again with glass situation?:glare:

I'm no pro, but I'd say your best bet is to trash it and start over.. Lord knows what you're vaping..

I just got into DIY last month and I had some Apple Cinnamon (5% flavoring each) in one of those types of bottles and it made the bottle all milky. It was great the first day.. then as it sat I started tasting plastic and threw it out.

I hate to say it, but you may need to dump it. I switched to all glass to avoid this issue. I still have some flavors in plastic bottles, but not many. If the bottle hasn't changed it may be your pv. Try the juice in a backup PV to see if it does the same thing.

I had to switch to a Polypropylene tank with silacone grommets because my juice was eating my Polycarbonate tank with rubber grometts. It tasted very bad (like burnt rubber/plastic combined). It may be your juice eating your PV not the bottle.

edit I found the post of juices that eat PV's. It doesn't say TPA lemon lime specifically, but it does say citrus juices may be a culprit in eating plastic.

Quick update guys. So today, had my 3ohm 510 atty and I filled a 3ml dripper bottle with this liquid. So, during lunch at work today, I stood outside and dripped. And dripped. And Not once did I get a rubber taste.. It was very tasty in fact.

So, recap, in the Vivi Nova, it tastes like burning rubber about 60-70% of the time. In a standard 3.2ohm SMOK carto, it tastes great as long as the filler is SOAKING wet.

I have a feeling that it's not my bottle. It seems to be the devices I'm putting it in. I will continue to finik with it to see if I can work that flavor out of the Nova at least. I had high hopes for vaping this in a Nova.

I'm curious to know where you heard/read this please inform us. I really am curious lol

Citric acid is often used for both extracting silica and chelating heavy metals out of silica. So if you introduce citric acid to a lower quality silica wick any heavy metals left could be extracted into your vape. Depending on what it was extracted from this could cause a wide variety of flavor differences. Google will flood you with links on the basic concept. Most of it is pretty thick reading for different industries. I forget the one that made it all click together.

So can you provide me with a few links to this I highly doubt that's what's making his juice taste like burnt plastic.

Honestly . . . .

*Yawn* too predictable BuzzBait sir. Challenge denied.

Relating to the thread. It was merely stated as a possibility that could be easily ruled out by the kind of testing the OP already seemed to be engaged in. I've nothing more to say here.
