I am using an MVP2 and smok CARTOS. I just changed out my cartos yesterday but it seams as if they have already gone bad. I am running single coil 3.0ohm single punched carto's. Is this possible or am I missing something here? I even bump it down to 6 watts still the same results. First two tugs and the flavor is fine after that, it goes burnt. Thanks.

OK, what you do here is first chuck the burnt carto. Once burnt, no recovery. If your new one starts giving dry tasteless hits, stop and take a few pulls w/o the power on to rewet the carto.

If that works you need more than one hole. Or adjust to that slower refill pace.

I'm assuming you're using 70% or more PG to only use one hole??

    And, Hey- Welcome newercomer!

I assume that you are also using these cartos in a carto tank right? If so, definately try for 2 holes if you are using anything thicker than a 50/50 if you are a heavy vaper like I am. I did lots of long, fast puffs on my cartos, and sometimes you need to wait a tiny bit to let the liquid seep back into the material inside. Once it gets dry, it will burn with a quickness, then the burnt flavor starts again.

If you are not using the cartos in a tank, do yourself a favor and go get one (or go get some cartos without any holes in them).

Thank you all for the quick responses. Yes I am using a tank... :) But I think I fried the cartidges as you guys stated earlier. I could even see the scorch where the coil comes over top. Gave me an excuse to load these two Z Juices. Punched the extra hole and filled her up. I couldn't attempt to elevate out of noob status with out all of the help here at ECF! :toast:

Priming the Carto is the single most important thing you will do, If done properly, it will increase the life of your carto tremendously. Make sure you dont vape on it until you are absolutely sure it good and soaked.....alll the way down to the bottom. You take a vape on it before this is complete and its done. Period.

I do use Smok as well. XL size, 2 lazer punched holes, 3.2 ohm's. I generally vape clear or fruit type juices at 3.4 to 3.6 volts. I use a 40/60 mix. I find the lower Voltage you vape and have a vape you can enjoy, the longer a Carto will last. I like livin on the edge with RBA's, but not a Carto. I like mine to last.

Also, I have found that correctly priming the cartomizers in the first place is absolutely essential. The link is to Baditude's Cartotank Setup Guide, which gives grreat information, particularly the dropping/thermometer flick method which I find to be most excellent.

Basically if the polyfil inside that carto is not wet, it will burn and then it's game over. You may also need to punch a second hole.

I've found that thick/dark/sweet eliquids are best used in a different delivery device, because they will gunk up a cartomizer pretty quickly
