Help? Cartomizers and Burnt taste...

I have been using a SI Volt (which I LOVE) and got their blank cartos and filled one with JC Domestic juice. I am getting a burnt taste after a day or two (still on analogs a bit as of yet, baby steps here) though it still vapes.....do I need to refill it or should I toss the carto. How can I tell when the carto is empty? Is the burnt taste the clue? Am I asking too many questions? I am asking here 'cause if I ask SI, I think they will just tell me to toss the carto.....PERPLEXED!

A regular size carto only holds 1ml of juice. If you have been vaping that carto for 2 days, I'd say it's empty. Need to refill more often.

When I first started vaping I was using straight cartos and I found I was refilling them twice and sometimes three times a day.. I vaped a lot to avoid the cravings.. But I think most average is refilling once a day. I'd say vape all day then when you get home at night or whatever, top them off and make sure they're nice and moist then cap them to sit overnight so they don't dry out and you'll be good to go the next day

Also if after you've refilled it (the one you already taste burnt) and it still tastes that way then you may have burnt it out by vaping it dry.. Just toss that one and start with a new one.

Toss it. Once it tastes burnt it will always taste like that . You need to top off the cart every couple for hours if you are vaping heavily. Typically carts can last a few weeks to a month with proper care in my experience. Just keep it filled.Make sure when you fill for the first time you leave it sit for a few minutes before using so it soaks into polyfill.

You can also pull the plastic "plug" out and look at the batting. The difference between nice and wet and getting dry is visible.

Yep. I have to drip a few drops in there every couple hours to keep it wet. If you have a drip tip (mouth piece) it make it much easier.

Yep, sounds like you're vaping it dry. It's true, once it's burnt, that taste won't go away.

I know they're meant to be disposable, so if you have a spare carto, toss the old one and prime a new one. Hope you have spares. I don't need new cartos, but I like to have at least 5 spares. Just knowing they're there makes me feel a little better.
