Burnt taste is typically an atty getting dry. LR attys will burn through more juice than standard attys. If you are dripping, then drop a few drops when you first get an inkling of dry burn. If you're using carts, well... i haven't used carts in a long time, and never on LR attys before, so someone else would be best to ask :)

you may have burnt your wick so it will always taste burnt, just a recommendation to you would be to prime that LR, all your Atty's first, I fill mine up to the bridge and let it soak for a while to ensure the priming of the Aty properly, it soaks the wick completely this way and you will NEVER encounter that burnt taste this way as long as you keep your Atty wet, LR extra wet.!

For reg lr atties you want to get the primer out before you use them. Primer tastes nasty. If the nasty taste is persistent wash/rinse them with warm water, let them dry and try again. New atties should taste good after getting rid of the primer. Old atties start tasting bad after a while, at that point I debridge them.
Eta: mwa makes a good point, keep them wet with good juice
