Yap/ Unless you use at low low volts you will get the burnt taste. I quit using them too. I didnt like the draw/flavor either.

I'm glad you mentioned that now that I have a VV mod which I just received yesterday. And it's funny that I've been trying to make one of these Kanger cartos work just a while ago. The burnt taste is definitely there. I even used a syringe with a long needle several times to get the liquid into the bottom fast. It goes away after a few puffs, then there is the burnt taste again.

But as suggested above they suck when used in higher voltages and I hope that's true so I don't have to throw them into the garbage. So I have to find out.
;-)

UPDATE: Nope, not even at extremely low voltage. The burnt taste doesn't go away. And I'm glad I didn't order tons of them. They went with the E-Power kit. Luckily, I have lots to try. EMDCCs definitely perform well and they're fatter and easy to fill. They actually make your Ego-T battery look attractive.

I use Bloog which I think are the same or similar to the 2.6ohm KR808D-1 version and I am very happy with them - the stuffing is very absorbent, they are not prone to leaking, the bottom coil seems to stay damp better. I do use near-perfect juices, thin with only 10-20% VG and no flavoring sediment. The juice flows easily to keep them damp. I try to keep cartos at least 1/2 full (I judge by looking at the stuffing, watching out of reduced flavor/vapor, changed flavor, or if the carto or vapor is getting unusually hot. I use a drip tip as a mouthpiece so it's easy to pull that out to check the stuffing or add juice. Note - they do seem to use juice a bit faster - maybe because they give a bigger easier drag.

Just in case we are missing any relevant info - Are these Kanger bottom coils or what? What ohms? Have you ever used cartos before? If they were 2 ohm, have you ever used LR cartos before (since the Kanger 510 threaded ones are 2 ohm LR). What PG/VG juice were you using? And what is the voltage or type of battery?

They are bottom coil 2 ohm. I'm using VG juice. I may try thinning the juice with distilled water. I'm using 650ma eGo batteries. I'm also using Smoktech 2ohm cartos, and have no problems with them.

VG is hard to use in cartomizers. It just doesn't flow fast enough to keep the coil area damp. I recommend trying what is expected to work well in a cartos first, then attempt what is difficult.

I use PG w/ 20% or less VG. I make sure I get 1ml of juice into a 1ml carto. then I clean it up and then settle it by laying it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure the juice flows and wets every bit of the stuffing (some people who use thicker juices settle much longer or overnight). I rarely singe them and I can get 7 days out of a carto (2-2.5ml per day), 10 days out of some.

Kangers are a fairly unique creature for vaping. They are extremely sensitive to voltage changes. They do not seem to fair well with devices beyond the 3.7 volt range (the Kangers I use are the XL [2.2 inch] model 2.7 +/- .3 Ohms). The current Kanger I am using seems to operate best at 3.5 volts (I use the VV device MVari stick). I use a 510 extender (aka 510 to 510 adaptor) to improve the airflow. I also use the carto without a cap or drip tip.

Kangers seem to favor flavor/longevity over TH. If TH is your thing, I would recommend a different carto. TH isn't for me since I have been off cigarettes long enough that I'm more for flavor now (tried a cig a few months ago and it tasted disgusting).

Before I had the VV device, I vaped these things using KGO's. They are decent with a KGO but the voltage of a KGO fresh off the charger tended to burn the material a bit, so I could only vape 30 mL of fluid (barely) before having to discard the carto and go for a fresh one. I have gone through about 15 mL so far with the VV and the carto still functions like a fresh one.

I haven't experienced the LR Kangers, but I would recommend giving them a shot at 3 volts. Once you scorch one too much, lowering the voltage is not going to salvage the carto, because it is already ruined. From my experience of toying with these things, the weak link in the Kanger is it's tube (at really high voltages you burn the juice and the wick as well, but the tube is the first thing to burn).

I'll report back with a different post when I find out how much juice I can get one of these things to continue to perform satisfactory with (I have gone through 34 units [never popped one, I just give up on them when they don't produce to my liking]). Excessive voltage and/or insufficient fluid seems to be the only thing that causes the burnt taste.
