I just finished a tank and figured I would refill it and put a new coil in (kanger t3s) the replacement coils are 1.5 ohms and the original ones were 2.5 ohms. After putting in the new coil I am getting this horrible burnt taste like plastic. I have the ego c twist battery. I don't get why I am getting this horrible taste I don't really want to waste a coil. I turned the volts down but still tastes horrible making me feel sick.

Secondly what are the best ohms to get for the ego ctwist? I'm thinking I might get 2.5 ohm replacements for the future but they have so many different ohms want to make sure I get the best ones

Did you prime that new coil?? You should take 4-5 good pulls before firing a new coil. I would get some 1.8 ohm coils for the T3S. For right now, take your old head, pop the chimney off, discard the flavor wick and give both parts a good rinse. Blow it out a bit and dry with a paper towel. Put the coil part back in the base, attach to battery and give it a dry burn by pulsing the battery until it's glowing nicely and cleans the wick. Add some 1 mm silica wick to replace the flavor wick and put the chimney back on. Your coil is now ready to go again.

1.5 ohms works best in the 3.0 to 3.4 range. 2.5 ohms works 3.2 to 4.75 range. There can be other variables like the quality of the coil, etc. When buying a new tank they often include a couple of coils with different resistance levels to appeal to different people. Just because I receive coils from the tank/clearomizer manufacturer, doesn't mean that they are good for me. Also, I don't think those coils are the best available. I'll use the one, but, don't anticipate it to be the highest of quality. I prefer the 2.2 or 2.3 coils. Another thought is that different juices work best at different resistances.

Hope helps,
Jere

To clean your old coil, just put it in some PGA or cheap vodka and let it soak for an hour. That should make it vapable again. ;)

Or put that old coil in a microwavable bowl, pour some distilled water over the coil(s) to cover and nuke for 5 minutes. That should clean it too. If you don't have any distilled water, use tap water. Just make sure the coil is fully immersed in water.

Lower the voltage to its lowest setting--right now! 1.5Ω is a very low resistance coil and will cause dry hits.

It's all about wattage--you want to vape somewhere between 5.5-7 watts. And yes. get 2.2Ω replacement coils. :)

What's your voltage right now on your Twist?

I am curious , why are you talking about watts when a ego c twist only has settings for volts ?

I am curious , why are you talking about watts when a ego c twist only has settings for volts ?

Because wattage (power, heat) of your PV is determined by voltage of your PV and the resistance of the atomizer:

Wattage = Voltage Squared divided by Resistance (Ohm's law).

Thus, the higher the voltage and the lower the resistance--the hotter your vape, so to speak.

And more on the subject--if you're interested:

Thanks for all the responses guys. I am going to put it in hot water and let it dry for a day or 2 while I use my other coils. I think the 1.5 ohms are just too low for me.

It came with 2.5 ohm and I had that at around 4.0 v normally and it seemed to be the sweet spot with good amount of vaper. with the 1.5 at 3.2v i dont get as much. I will probably order 2.2-2.5 ohmcoils this week

Once you have that burn wick taste it will taste that way until you clean it (I have burnt a few myself and found replacing the atty worked best. I like a hotter vape and set my volt at 4.2 to 4.4. i definitely would order the 2.5 if I were you. Start with lower volt when putting in a new atty and break it in. Seems to work for me.

Good luck

I will try it, I like to have my volts set higher so i get more vape and these 1.5ohm coils just cant seem to handle it i hope i can find a store with them so i dont have to order them online.

EDIT: as an update, I have fully stopped analogs. had my last analog last night at work and wont be buying anymore! it was tough at work last night though no analogs and then my pen was tasting burnt so i couldnt use it lol horrible timing
