So... I'm a newbie at vaping so I still have a lot to learn. I rely on it to stop smoking. So far it's working wonders for me but I have a major issue. I like to puff on my mod (vamo) quite a bit, sometimes for 5-10 minutes at a time for maybe a few times an hour. The first couple minutes the taste is good but after a bit the hits almost taste burnt. Am I overheating the coil? If so do I need a higher resistance coil? Right now I'm using a dual tank clearomizer with two 3.6 ohm coils to give a 1.8 ohm total. I also use a single tank dual coil clearomizer that came with the vamo that is a 2.5 ohm coil. I don't get the burnt taste as much with that one but I like mixing my juices so I like to stick with the dual tank. Any ideas?

What voltage are you running your vamo at?

What exactly are the tanks you are using? I have had a terrible time with Cheap copies of Vivi Novas. Thus far, my Smoktech Vivi Novas give me one or two good hits and then I get dry hits ( burned taste). Otherwise, you may be using too much voltage or wattage with your vamo. Post some more info on what types of tanks you use, your settings and what kind of juice.

You think a bottom feeder tank like the kanger protank bottom coil may be better for me?
Sorry, can't help you with that as I have only used 510 atomizers for the last four years.
I drip, and only drip, and one big reason I drip is to avoid any wicking issues.

I'm sure others will come along with some suggestions though.

I've switched back and forth between top coil and bottom coil tanks. So far, the BCC's perform much better and I probably use them 75% of the time. I have a few thinner liquids that work great with TCC's like the throwaway CE4 "Starbursts" but they just don't cut it well with higher viscosity juice. They have to be tipped and twirled after almost every draw. The BCC's work well with everything.

If you do get a BCC like an Evod, T3S or ProTank, make sure you're buying genuine Kanger. Knockoffs are absolutely beset with leaking problems whereas few people have trouble with the real deal. That's not to say that there aren't some genuine Kanger tanks with issues, but the likelihood of running into them with knockoff clones is an order of magnitude greater.

I vape like you do. I hit pretty hard & constantly. I will occasionally get a burnt hit, especially with my top coil tanks. I usually will adjust my voltage & make sure to saturate the wicks a bit & I don't get any more burnt hits. I do prefer BCC tanks I think tho. I tend to get less burnt hits with those, especially when letting the juice level get low so I can clean it. I've found it's important to clean them often. That helps too. I really like the iSmoka BCC tank a lot & I just pre-ordered a couple of Pro- Tank 2's, so we'll see how that goes.

I started out using CE4's and Vivi Nova's because I kind of like how the top coils give a warmer vape but after buying every brand available and having the same wicking issues I've started using the Kanger Pro tanks. Even though I miss the warmer vape, I have no more issues with my juice tasting burnt... and none of them have leaked! :)
