Hey everyone, how are you doing?

So, I just recently upgraded from a regular 3.7V Ego style battery to the eleaf Istick 20W for my Mini Protank 3 and Evod clearomizers. So, I gotta say, the difference in Vapor production compared to my old battery I was using for about a month is not comparable! However, I started vaping around 6.4w on 1.8ohm and was getting a burnt taste almost immediately. Unfortunately, the coil in the MPT3 got burnt out pretty quick, but the Evod one is salvageable since I started at 5.0w on that one. Any thoughts as to how I can get these coils to hold up better? They are the single coil Protank/Evod ones.

Hi, welcome!

Unfortunately, these things are not a good combo. I found this out the hard way too. Kanger single coils (like from an evod) will quickly pack it in on the istick. Kanger dual coils fare better but I found that the lowest setting is all it can take if you want them to last a while. It comes from the istick putting out more power than the display says and not being able to output below 4-ish V, despite what it says.

I actually went back to the ego battery for my protank and aerotank v2... and they are happier there.

The 2.2 (my experience) will taste cooler to you. How long they last... well, that's a crap-shoot.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I found out using the exact type of gear you have...started buying other kanger tanks thinking I could fix the hot vape but there is no fixing it. It will toast your coils. Kanger likes low power...that's their thing I guess.

Nautilus works better on the istick because their coils can handle the power.

edit: or if really want to be done buying tanks and like the small form factor: subtank NANO on that istick using the 1.2 occ coils. it works, makes lots of vapor, tastes good. and you can turn it up as high as you like. and can rebuild the occ coils VERY easily...saving money, long run.

Ah man, I just put in an order for the Nautilus Mini, do you think the Subtank Nano would have been a lot better?
