Hey guys, I hope that someone in this section may be a bit more OCD about the build of tanks and heads, and may be able to shed some light on my issues.

To start off, I use a Vision Spinner, and I keep it at 3.3. I'm also an experienced vapor, and I know all the tricks and tips.

However, I've reviewed several devices - the Protank II, the Aspire, the Aro, various CE4's/CE5's, and the iClear 30, to name a few.

My issue is that in all of these devices, I get a burnt, extremely dry hit, or at best, a dirty, bland tasting vape.

With the Protank II, I eventually narrowed it down to a design flaw where, in a bottom-coil tank, that juice really doesn't wick any better than a top-coil tank if the wicks are positioned horizontally. (All the tips or tricks caused one problem or the other.)

With the Aspire, I got the "best" results (a dirty flavored vape with extremely odd tastes), but I narrowed this down to the top wick not getting enough juice with the holes positioned for the bottom coil, and that the top coil had wires that were touching the mesh tubing inside on multiple heads.

With the Aro, same as the Protank II, the physics just weren't there.

With CE4's/CE5's, I found that only air flow control really makes these things work, but that even this method did not work on all of them - I had great success with one particular CE4 for about a day of amazing tasting juice.

With the iClear 30, the top coil has coated legs that touch the coil of the bottom wick, which I can't assume tastes great.

Other than these explainations, I'm doing everything I possibly can to make sure my methods are perfectionist and by all means, I should be getting a great vape on one of these. I've tried both low and high resistance heads on all the models, and have tested both thick and water-thin juices in all of them.

Anyone have any horrible situations like this where nothing seems to work and there seems to be no definate cause?

I don't have much experience with many or any of the atties you're using. That said I should probably shut my mouth but instead I'll see if I can help troubleshoot.

First off, I gotta ask, have you considered a RBA or RDA? You might toss the other stuff you have after getting the hang of them. Also, I've never heard of thinning juice with water & I wouldn't ever do this. I suspect adding H2O may increase risk of mold & organisms/pathogens growing in your juice and then causing you unpleasant side-effects which only antibiotics may relieve. I've heard of using PG or PGA (pure grain alcohol) to thin juice, or better yet, so as to eliminate the risk of losing flavor & nic why not just get juice in higher PG concentrations as its much less viscous than VG?

What device are you using? What wick are you using? Are you sure you're not running it too hot for the ohms? Sounds like its either poor wicking, funky wick material, or running it too hot/hard. How often do you replace the coil segments depending on the device (I was thinking protank)? My friend is new to using protanks and he alternated various strong juices with each new tank refill with the same atty piece which resulted in funky flavor with each new juice he added which after a tank or two didn't come close to resembling what each juice should thereafter. I told him to use a HH357 to sample flavors & when he finds one he likes to devote a replacement protank atty segment to a particular juice and to toss the one he funked up with a million juices.

Sounds like you're a VG vaper and that could also explain things. Due to the higher viscosity of VG they tend to gunk up the coils fast resulting in nasty burning flavor & also have the added bonus of creating a very toxic substance which should not be inhaled! To rectify this simply remove the wick (if you can based on what atty you're using) dry burn it until it glows several quick times to burn off built up hazardous funk and re-wick.

Sorry if I'm just pointing out stuff you're already well aware of & am not able to help you out any, but like I said, I don't use any of the atties you listed so I was blindly troubleshooting. My final suggestion is to get a RDA/RBA, etc. You will experience unparallelled flavor, vapor, whatever & you create the atties yourself so you can adjust various variables to suit your wants & needs. My favorite factor of vaping is flavor & if you try a RDA for example, you'll never look back.

Hope this helps.
