Burnt taste -- Time to change Clearomizer Head?

Hi guys,
I'm working with my first (Stardust) clearomizer here. Lately, its been giving me a burnt taste. Is it time to change the head, or could something else be causing this? Thanks!

How long have you been using it? When did you last clean or dry burn it?

What resistance is the head, and what voltage are you using it at? Most common problem is trying to use them at to high a voltage.

I've been having this same problem with my smoke tech DC 2.5's, the only way I found to stop it was Drowning it in e liquid for a few days.(I wont be buying ST carto's any more)

The cartomizer is 2.4 ohm. I've had it for about a week and a half and never cleaned it. I have used it at higher voltage (4.8 or so occasionally -- I have a twist), but I usually use it around 3.6. Try cleaning and a dry burn?

Yea, I would clean and dry burn. I've had the same issue before, in fact just tonight, seems to help me. I tend to clean mine once a week anyway if they were used. I've got some that are four months old and still work like the day they were purchased.

I have same issues. Burn taste comes and goes. I try not to let the tank go below 1/4 or it seems more prone to burnt hits. I have cleaned and dry burned them with success, but aftr dry burning one...it taste like melted garbage bag from there on out.

Hello, I'm new to this and I see someone does get that 'burnt' taste. What is a 'dry burn'? Also, I'd like to get the sturdiest battery and set up possible as I do mix my e juice. My concern is once our cartridges are kaput or atomizers (I'm still learning, be patient) discarding seems to me 'wrong' since there is metal and once that builds up as I can see the trend really going towards this is this going to be a biohazard with all disposed batteries and atomizers?

flush out with warm water..paper towel completely...gently dry burn to clean off the coil....reassemble.. fill with eliquid you are familiar with the taste of...let the coil satuate...give it a big toot.. and see if you still have burnt effect.. if so replace your heating element.. Good Luck

Either the coils are not touching the wick good enough or the wick is not wicking fast enough. Or voltage is too high. 2 ohm coil at 3.7 volts with about 70% VG should be smooth. A stardust can be rebuilt. Use a fatter wick or double them up. Use 3 wraps of a .20 resistance wire. You should get about 2.2 ohms.

I have found that clipping the little condom above the wick a little on both sides helps keep them saturated and helps a lot.

But by doing that wouldn't it flood the coil and end up taking the juice directly ?

there's lots of reason for burnt taste.
juice / carto type the most common that cause burnt taste
