Burnt taste? Try thinning out your juice.

This is to "pay forward" some help I received. Earlier, I posted a thread "Can't get no (flavor) satisfaction w/ eGo". I was getting a "burnt wick" taste from Boge LR cartos and CE-2 ceramic cartos. Following some advice I received, I tried thinning out my juices by adding 15 drops Distilled Water and 15 drops pure PG and then filling with my usual juice, the 3ml "walk around" supply dripper bottle I usually carry. No more "burnt wick" flavor, at least so far. So what was happening was that the juice couldn't flow to the heating element as fast as I was vaping - I'd get one, maybe two, decent puffs, then the next puff tasted nasty because the heating element was starved for juice. Maybe you're having the same problem, and if so, try thinning out your juice with water, PG, or even PGA. In my case, I used about 30% thin-out (3mls is about 100 drops, and I used a total of 30 drops to thin it). Of course, this makes the flavor weaker, too, but it'll tell you whether you've got a viscosity problem or not. Then, in the future, you can order your juices with more (or completely) PG, and less (or no) VG, to thin them out. You can always get VG at Walmart, if you want to thicken up your juice at home.

So I was vaping my favorite blend today on my echo (3ml cartomizer), which is 80/20 or less VG, and noticed the flavor vanished and that dry burnt taste would pop up every half hour or so. I'd top off but only 20 drops or so until it started coming out the bottom again. When filling I make sure to both 1. spin the carto between my palsm to help distribute the juice and 2. let it sit for a minute to settle. Anyways, this got me wondering why so little juice would go in when it tasted empty so after topping off I pulled out the filler to have a look-see. There wasn't much more than 1ml of juice unevenly distributed throughout it (estimated), with not much at the bottom!

So I have two opposite trains of thought.

1. The juice needs thinned out so it fills the filler easier and quicker. Some distilled water and/or Pure Grain Alcohol would do the trick, right?

2. The juice needs thickened so it won't run out the bottom so fast and the filler would hold it better. How in the world do you thicken PG juice WITHOUT adding VG?

Thoughts?
