I have a smoketek VMAx,
I have a cheapVamo,
I also have a provari.

I have beenusing mostly Kanger products (Protank, Protant mini, Kanger bottom coilclearomizer etc)

The atomizers Ihave been buying are the 2.5 or 2.8 ohm.

No matter whatmod I use I need to set it at 3 volts. The only combo that can work regularlythe way I like is the protank with the Provari. Although it is a little airy Ican smoke it a few hits in a row and it works well at 3 volts.

Any othercombination of battery and tank has one hit in it and I have to wait. If I takea second hit fairly quick I get a burnt taste. If I try turning any of thebatteries up higher I get a burnt taste. I keep seeing people running at 5 and6 volts and talking about how great it is. What am I doing wrong here?

I am in searchof the perfect setup yet it continues to elude me.

First off, what mix is your juice vg/pg wise? If its a medium or even high vg mix, you will likely have to modify/rearrange your flavor wicks in your heads. Sounds like you need to remove 1 of the usual 2 that sit on top of the coil/main wick, this will improve juice flow and should cut down/eliminate the dry hits.

Are you familiar with how to open up your PT heads?

Yes, by head i mean this:

The flavor wicks are almost surely your problem, generally PT/EVOD heads have to 1mm flavor wicks that sit on top of the coil/main wick(3mm), when using thicker juices it is recommended that you remove 1 of the flavor wicks, fluff/replace the other and reassemble.

This video will tell you what to do, ff to 8:50 and he shows the process for opening up the head and removing a flavor wick.
