I've seen a couple of posts on these topics so I thought I'd just mention my experience with both of these issues. I am aware that some people experience neither but I have experienced both. At this stage I don't know whether it is just me or the ejuice I'm using.
When I first vaped I bought a kit that contained no nicotine. This was because I'm in Australia and being unaware of the law in Australia on ecigarettes, I was under the impression (wrongly so) that I was not allowed to import e-juice with nicotine and so I didn't and my first batch of e-liquid was nicotine free, I vaped without any throat hit which drove me back to analogues, however I enjoyed vaping regardless and found I cut down on analogues but didn't stop, so I decided to try vaping with nicotine to see if it would give me the throat hit I craved. Now strangely on that first day I had dinner with friends and I ate an extremely hot chilli pepper which burned my tongue, or so I thought. This burning sensation went on for about 4 days, I continued to vape but blamed the chilli on my burned tongue. In the next few days while I was waiting for my e-juice with nicotine to arrive I ran out of my nicotine less e-juice as I had only ordered 10 ml with kit. My burning went away and I concluded that it had finally healed, not equating the timing with my running out of e-juice (or not wanting to).
When the e-liquid with nicotine arrived, I got the throat hit I needed, I also got the burned tongue back

So I had to conclude that it was from vaping. But not only the burned tongue, I also developed pain in my teeth, like ultra sensitive, mostly in my front teeth. So I can only conclude that vaping is giving me a burned tongue and nicotine is giving me a pain in my teeth. I will persevere and experiment with different types of e-liquids and less nicotine concentrations to see how that effects things and report back. Meanwhile if anybody has any advice or similar experiences I'd be happy to hear about them...
Thanks,
