I've been trying to make a caramel and/or butterscotch flavor and its just not working for me. I have fa butterscotch, ECX Sig caramel candy (forgot the actual maker ATM), fw salted caramel, and tfa caramel. Can anyone help me out? Thank you

I tried different butterscotches when I started DIY. I couldn't get anything good until I found Nature's Flavors butterscotch. It's a nice, rich flavor. To me it tastes just like the little candies.
My favorite caramels are FW caramel candy and NF caramel cream.
ETA.. if you want to try NF, you can get smaller amounts at ECX. (You have to get big bottles if you order directly from NF).

The ECX Signature line is said to be nothing more than TFA, which seems to be true. SO that Caramel Candy is from TFA... and I've had both caramels from TFA and they're ok but nothing great IMO. Some people mix 2 different butterscotches or a butterscotch and butter rum and get good results. I personally haven't found anything. High Desert Vapes Butterscotch (e-juice, not a flavor) is good though.

Flavourarts' butterscoth at 9-10% with a few drops of sweetener in a VG base tastes fine to me.
If it's not quite there for you add 1-3% cotton candy. (Candy corn works too)

Thank you everyone. I have a new bottle of butterscotch steeping. It's at 12%. It still tastes a bit off to me so I'm hoping the steeping fixes it. Any other ideas are welcome. Anything I can add to help the flavor? I have too many flavors to list so I might have it or can get it. Thank you!
Three weeks of experiments with the Caramel Candy and the regular Caramel flavors from TFA, and I just have no luck at all with these two. Just about anything I make with it doesn't come out right.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (on this forum) that many people think TFA's butterscotch and caramel taste *funky* as stand-alone flavors. (Of course I read this after I had ordered them.) I've played around a bit with the butterscotch (test batches at 10%, 12.5% and 15%), they're steeping now - it's only been a couple of days - but they don't smell very good. (Actually, *funky* is a good descriptive word.)
Many people love MBV's butterscotch juice and (I believe) they use Flavor West flavorings so that might be worth a shot.

I bought a 236ml bottle of MBV Butterscotch +1 18mg 80/20 back in April after trying a 15ml
I make my FW pretty damn close to it at 12.25%-12.5% 18mg 70/30
Today I just received my second 4oz bottle of Butterscotch from FW. This first is half gone.
I think that works out to about a pint that I've made and people like it so I'll keep making it that way
I still have about 134ml left of that MBV +1 and nobody better lay a finger on it
Today's experiment was to mix it with Peanut Butter on someone's recommendation in the main MBV thread
I mixed it 50/25/25 with TFA PB and MBV PB and yeah, that's really good
I like the MBV/FW Peanut Butter better but that's fodder for another thread

it's sort of in the same family of flavors, i mix lorann's at 22% as a single flavor juice and think its fantastic...you dont need any sweetener but its a pretty high flavor percentage

Michael, did you try the rum flavor you were talking about? Or are you using butter rum?
Yes I tried the new Rum Flavor I like it.
I'm using the VZ Gourmet Rum, it has a great smell.
On my next ECX order I am going to order the Hangsen butterscotch, I have high regards for Hangsen- I will report back with the quality of the flavor
