Button Coming Out :(

Hey there Family,

So, when I have my button 'Locked" and try to unlock it, it keeps screwing out until the whole assembly comes out. I have tried to tighten it, which fixes it for a couple days, but it happens again. Very annoying, anyone have a more permanent solution?

I think you got that backward shark - when you lock it is when the whole assembly would come out.

What I do, in my very limited experience so far, is to just not tighten down the 'locking' nut very tight, then it won't turn the whole button when you lock it. Don't know if it's recommended, but maybe we could use a drop of thread lock on the button assembly threads...??

You mean it the other way aroung, maybe? I'm asking because the button assembly is screwed in clockwise and "unlocking" the button is to be done clockwise too. How can you unscrew the button assembly while unlock the button?

If you tighten it with a pliers it will stay put for a long time. I wouldnt apply any thing to it to adhere it, you'll wish you hadnt when you want to remove it.

Before I knew about this, I bought some of these pliers for extra scratch insurance--Amazon.com: Tamiya Non-Scratch Long Nose Pliers: Toys & Games
Though I'm sure similar, cheaper ones are available at craft stores and such too..

From experience, it will do the trick. I was having the same problem until I came across it.

Worked pretty good for me, I think I need the pliers though, or someone with more muscle mass. I don't have Godly Imeo hands

Yeah, looks like that is my best option now. There's a chance I'll strip the threads though, right?

i just nip it up then a little bit more just dont force it it will be ok

Seaweed, if you are going to use pliers, use a rubber band between the threads and the pliers. You'll still get enough grip to snug the button without damaging anything.

WOW! I was trying to use a sock... your idea is much better
