If anyone is getting sore fingers from using their Reo's, they're jamming the button down too hard. I don't feel like I need to apply THAT much pressure to the button for it to work. I'm supporting the change more for the form factor (bigger fingered folks will love it more!) than the functionality of it.

My 2 cents!

We had a long discussion about this here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...est-rob-please-make-reo-button-cover-add.html

in summary:

I measured my reo with a multimeter. The button needs to be pressed down completely for full 3.7 Volts. not all reos are alike (some need to be pressed down more than others. I have small hands and fingers, no motor impairing diseases and my reo is UNCOMFORTABLE.

those were mine....

Will we be able to turn the units on and off with this cover in place?
I purchased my Reo's from the classifieds and I have to use a rubber grip to get a hold of the knob to turn it off. Turning it back on is no problem.

You may need to give it a good bath and rinse with hot water. I dropped one of my grands in the hot tub so I had to rinse it real good with water and it seemed to help.

Generally yes. Wonderful. Perfect. I want to buy.

But ......

I am german. I have over 38 old, mechanical cameras. And these old film cameras have something, which most people don't know anymore: a shutter release button. On cheap old russian or chinese cameras they look nearly the same like on our beloved Reos. (Sorry Rob to mention your wonderful mods together with cheap cameras in one sentence.)

Tom Abrahamsson makes so called "Soft Releases" for old cameras.
Take a look at them. specially the two small mini releases.

The whole idea here is to make everyone happy I no I cant make everyone happy but it would be a shame for someone with sensitive fingers who loves the mini or grand but cant use them because it bothers there hands . Thanks for the input folks I appreciate it :)

I like it; I'll take five! (because I always lose one when I replace the old one). ;)

I probably should do just that. I wondered if it was the spring was the reason for having to press the button so hard on my grand and read through all the threads and figured it is just how the unit is made. Even with that issue, I purchased a mini, which should be here in a few more days!

Definitely give it a good hot bath, and work the button while you are doing it. After a while, you can get crud built up. Also clean the firing pin well with a QTip in alcohol and add a dab of noalox to the tip.

I use a button cover, and the larger circumference allows you to turn it on and off much easier, it's a leverage thing. :)

Love them Rob!

+1 on what Miss mlink said. I was having a heck of a time turning my REOs on and off due to tendonitis (couldn't grasp the small button). Then I started using button covers (Thanks Earl and Reetz) and I can turn the units on and off with one finger.
