Want to make my first purchase of a regulated mod.. Probably next Friday.

I quit smoking last early winter. Come early summer i caved.. And I'm back smoking.
Last week bought a nati mini and some suicide bunny- sucker Punch(highly recommend) to give it another try once my still is optimal. I just got so tired of junky coils. Inconsistent vape that I just have up. But want to give it another try.

I currently am running a mvp2 with a nautilus mini.

I'm looking to upgrade without breaking the bank.

I enjoy my current setup, but no longer love it, nor does it truly satisfy what I'm looking for. Hopefully with some insight and suggestions i can get what I'm looking for.

Don't want to leap into mods yet. Way to much info on it. Not enough time currently to learn everything.

With that being said. My current setup just doesn't quite put out the vapor I'm looking for. It's definitely not a pathetic amount. But I'll but I'll hit the 10 sec cut off and don't feel like I'm getting the vapor i want. Also im stuck at 11w and feel like 15ish would be that much better. Like going from 7w-11w

My local shop carries istick20w, clouper dna 30s, clouper mini, ipv minis.

I just have a few questions.
-Will I see a noticeable increase in vapor simply increasing wattage with one of these devices on the Nautilus mini im using?
-I plan to buy a RDA as well. Most of these mods can go down to .5 ohms. If I built a .8 coil would they perform optimally on any of these devices or any in general.
-would I use higher wattage on a 1.8 ohm coil such as my nati mini, or a built coil at .8 ohms on a RDA.
-any other reputable regulated mods at the 60ish or less price range that would do what I'm looking for that anybody would suggedt

Any other additional info or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.

I have many different systems but will say this, my Sigelei 100, .5 ohms on a Kanger Sub ohm tank puts out a lot less vapor than my Mechanical Mod with a 1.2 coil in a Kayfun Lite running around six amp. But I do run 30amp batteries anyways. You take your tank and bump it up to 20 watts on an Istick I think you will likely just burn your juice. Very few tanks are made for high power or Sub ohms. Suppose if you are happy dripping maybe that's the route to go. I only like tanks. I currently have a Kayfun 4 on the way with a sub ohms kit. I find vapor production is mainly wicking. Quicker you can get juice to the coil the more vape you will have. But then you need air. Without the both of them you get heat. I rewick mine almost daily to keep the vapor production how I want it. This is my opinion only as others may differ in their opinions. Cheers!

So three questions then
If I was to run my current tank at say 15w. (Which ive read people even go to 17 before experiencing burnt) I would increase vapor? Yes?

And I deff would like to get a rebuildable. That outs where the 20-30 watts would shine correct?

I just found a ohm chart for " sub ohm" and it says that a .7 coil would work well from 3.6 - 4.2 v

And shows the wattage being 19-25.

Does that mean if I built a .7 coil and set my mod to 23-25 w it would be working optimally add almost the same vapor performance as a mechanical mod?

Or am I missing something?

And why is it that your mech puts out so much more vapor? Is there any way a regulated can come close? Looking for almost that kind of vapor. Just not ready to make that leap yet

There's only so much vapor you'll be able to achieve without going sub ohm, but certainly upping the wattage will net you bigger vapor production - but without a setup like the Atlantis a regulated mod will be overkill. Building sub ohm coils means your non-mod batteries likely won't fire properly without the serious increase in wattage you can achieve with mods. I'm new to this, however, so take what I say with a grain of salt, others here will be far more accurate/scientific in their explanations. A multimeter will be a good investment at this juncture.

Trying to do the big lung pulls and blow clouds is what it seems like you are looking to do...
No mod regulated or not will give you that kind of vapour production on an Nautilus or Nautilus Mini, you need to be looking at a RDA.

I would highly advise against the Eleaf iStick 20W, the 510 pin and the threads are total junk! I have one sitting on the bench now waiting for parts from FatDaddy Vapes. I would look towards a mod that will give you at least 30W`s like the IPV mini if you are looking to blow a few clouds with your RDA.

There is an IPV MIni 2 coming out this month that will do 70W so you might want to wait for that one.

I run my Kayfuns with a 1.4 Ohm coil at 15W and do not have any problem with flavour or vapour production on a 50/50 juice. If you want to chase the clouds you`ll need an RDA with some max VG liquid and something that will fire at least a 0.8 Ohm coil.

Thanks trolldragon. That's just what i wanted to hear.
I don't plan on sticking with my nati mini. I planned on getting a rda for that purpose. I also planned on buying a rmod that could go down to .5 minimum. And a 30ish + watt.

I'm loving suicide bunnys-sucker Punch, which is high VG.

I'll check out the ipv mini as well as the ipv2
And might just go that route.

Don't forget the istick 50 watt is coming out on the 25th. 50 watts, built in 4400mah battery, fires down to .2, stainless 510 with spring loaded connector. I have an Atlantis and run it on aspires sub ohm battery and while it's a nice setup I do miss having a regulated device. If I can come up with a little spare cash I'll be getting the 50w istick.

I personally would recommend getting a box mod that uses 2 batteries and at least 50 watts, maybe even 100. I was in your exact position about 6 months ago and ended up getting the ipv1 , a 35 watt device. It was great, but then I was wanting my batteries to last longer so I wouldn't have to carry so much to work. Couple of months ago, I bought the sigelei 100w plus and have been so happy with it. Although now I end up taking both of those with me everywhere. Anyway, some recommendations... The new MVP 3 might be good for, the 50 watt I stick if they have fixed some problems, any of the ipv by pioneer4u or the sigelei box mods, hexohm box mods( although they are quite expensive)

I second the 50w. I have a 30w istick and it fires subohm to .4 nicely with a plume veil. They are goin for around 35 bucks and have all issues the 20 had fixed. The thread issues included. I plan on getting a Joyetech Delta ll for my istick 30w and the 2 50w I have ordered. This 30 is so nice and powerful, I don't know if I really need a 50. Big clouds, Big flavor and Low price. Best money I have spent to date!

.... Explaining i could get a very similar sub ohm vape at 1-1.8 ohms being able to vape at 37 watts and 8 volts.

And the vapor was great on a RDA with a 1.8 ohm coil.
^ Yep. On a reg box there's no need to subohm to get big vapor. In fact you get better vapor with higher ohm builds and upping the watts (due to greater surface area of the higher Ω coils). Regs give you that freedom, the power punch required to do it.

There's lots of misinformation regarding this, including a post or two in this thread.

Read this article from rusirius. An eye opener > > http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ughts-about-sub-ohm-latest-vv-vw-devices.html

Take a look at the Joyetech egrip. You can get it and run it with disposable coils that perform about like the nautilus mini, or you can run it with its optional kayfun style RBA ($11.00 option). You can build your own coils for its RBA or you can buy pre wrapped and wicked RBA coils for .65 cents each. (even I can re-wick these and that’s saying something)
The entire mod is self contained. It’s shaped like a mini box mod and the tank and the RBA are built in.
Its dead simple to use and it works great. The RBA produces gobs of vapor – The coils come in 1.2 ohm – the mod goes to 20 watts.

Yes, the IpV mini is really good. I have the Segelei 100 plus, but I am using the Mini more for comfort in my hand. Plus the battery swap is cake. I also have an ipv2 and you have to take out the screws on the cover to change batteries. Not preferable while you are on the go. I am really loving my mini right now. I have a Kanger Subtank on it and I love it.

Really liking the looks of:
Sigelei 50w
Ipv2
Istick50

Any other good suggestions? Reputable? That have good review and positive feed back in the forum community?
The istick 30w is a very nice mod especially at the price. High performance in a small package. It runs everything I have well. But I think the 50w is gonna be a game changer. I have 2 ordered. My choices :)
