Simply I cannot afford a non clone sadly but since its my first i dont want to waste $100 on a rba i dont really like. If i like the clone i am sure i will like the original lol. So that being said I really can only afford 20-30 dollar range. (if you know where to get one i would loveto know also)I have been looking around and first I DO NOT WANT A DRIPPING rba (sorry for the bold just a main issue) and i want one that the top doesnt screw on or not allow me to ajust where my airhole is so i can just align it with my coil rather than trying to build a coil where the air hole is. that beng said. So far without help i would try either a cobra clone (dont know what the clone is called) and the AGA-t (i think a zen clone) But idk if either are better or what. I have no experience I also want to start using Wire Mesh wicks (i have heard they kick .... but ill find out) so something that can use wire mesh with silica or cotton wicks would be great.

SO with the above background information my questions are:
  • What rba should i try first?
  • How do i properly (oxidize) a mesh wick or what do i need to do to prep my mesh for wicking (tother than creating a coil)?
Lastly I would like to THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

I got the aga t + with glass it came assembled so i disasembled it to put in the glass. The clas and the polycarb tanks are both cut but not sanded or polished so they have sharp edges and some chips but once placed into the AGA you cant see them and i hope it does not leak. I am now waiting on an order of wire (i blew my first coil LOL) my first coil with a SS mesh wick though. I do know i poped it with too much voltage.

This is how it went down. I wrapped what i thought it be a perfect coil so i put it on my battery to check for even heating well i had the lights too bright i suppose because as i ajusted the voltage to look for hot spots it blew before i even saw it get red (i should have waited longer at a lower voltage i suppose. But i dont think that was a good coil anyway since it popped at the very top where these tend to get hot spots when wrapped wrong. I have been looking at videos on how to get a good coil but i forgot to order extra wire (i know dumb! like i was going to make my first coil perfect!) So as wait for my wire i hope i can find some good tips on how to build these well. i wish it came with more wire but thats why i should have purchased more.

Last thing is i have not gotten it going yet but just in case anyone is reading this thread i will ask some questions before i post a topic as i know they are already thier just not with this specific model only for the aga t (same with youtube) and afaik the only difference is the fact that the non plus may or may not come with glass and the top screws on. the plus model lets you align your airhole at anytime.

First IDK if my coil is too big in diameter (i used the whole 45x45 mm square) it is too long i know that but i am not trimming it down untill i wire it. It fits the hole just fine with very little room left maybe enough for one or 2 more wraps of mesh around the wick. also since this is 400 mesh i might try a hybrid wick as i use full vg??

I have seen the washer mod for the aga t but idk if it is needed for this one (is that why my coil blew? or was i right about voltage?

The only other thing about it is i find just sucking on it that the airhole is very small for my liking idk since i dont have it going but i might have to bore it out a bit.

Lastly i have seen people use these with the filling cap (screw) removed permatly in the video he said so it does not cause a vacuum and draw liquid into the top chamber? Does this happen? I would personnaly not like to leave it open to leak all over?

Thanks for the recomendations and Maybe ill ge some more help. I'll be doing nothing but researching before my wire arrives lol.

Nothing wrong with the Aga, any variety except maybe making the airhole bigger. Look for a video by petar k for making your coil. In a nutshell, you use a drill bit or other metal rod, I use a big sewing needle, sized to fit the wick hole.
First wrap you coil around the bit, metal rod, needle, etc. Space it so no coils are touching.
Bring the assembly to your atty and drop the needle into the wick hole. The coil will be in the upper portion of course.
Screw it down to the negative and the positive posts.
Check for coil spacing, make sure none are touching. Pull the needle out.
At the lowest voltage setting 3.3 v or thereabouts, turn on the power and when the coil glows red, stop. Repeat and the coil is ready.
Roll up your wick to fit the coil.
Drop it in. If you want, you can oxidize first but it doesn't require much. Put some pg or vg on it before dropping it in and light it up.
When you are happy with it drop it in. It should fit in, not too snugly but not so loose and thin that it leans to a side.
Put some more pg on it and power it up. You can raise the voltage after this.
With sufficient pg there should be nothing glowing red. You can always pull the wick ,put your needle back in and fiddle with the coils a bit more to make sure they are not touching. If you have a problem putting the wick in, use your needle to realign the coils.

It is ok for your wick to be thinner than the wick hole but not too much thinner than the coils. With 500 mesh my wick is a skinny little toothpick wrapped tight and I wrap the coil for this. 400 mesh might require a center channel tubular type wick, might not. most use it that way. At any rate, pinch off the top cause juice will flow up and out that tube with the heat, like a volcano.

Experiment, every wick you make will be different. But most should work and the differnces will be minor.
Don't worry about leaking, All gennies leak if you lay them down on their sides, even with the fill hole covered and the wick tight in the hole.
