Is it just me or does the thought of buying someone's opened, partially used bottle of e-juice sound completely gross. It's like buying someone's half-consumed bottle of milk, or someone's half eaten package of bread, or dare I say it, someone's half smoked package of cigarettes. Once the bottle is opened, there's no telling what's been done to it or how it was taken care of, or how old it is, or if it was stored in a sanitary condition or if it was altered in some way or whose fingers have been all over the dripper tip. What comes to mind immediately when I see someone selling their juice is, "What's wrong with it if the person selling it dislikes it so much that he/she is trying to sell it?" I certainly can't keep track of which of my bottles of juice have had juice from a tank poured back into it or had it's dripper tip between my teeth as I pulled it off the bottle. Also, juice does have a shelf life of about two years, so unless the juice comes with a made on date, who knows how fresh it is. No sir, not me, I'd never buy someone's used bottle of e-juice.

I can see where you're coming from - and you make some good points. However, most people I know will take off the dripper of a bottle with their finger nail to avoid the juice getting in their mouth from using their teeth. Not saying that's much better (who knows how they take care of their finger nails). I suppose the fact of the matter is - if you're going to use the PIF section - be prepared to received possibly used juice and know what that might mean.

I agree full-heartedly. I don't think I will ever trade or buy used juice from somebody I don't know in person.

luckily you have the option to buy new liquids. to each their own :)

Right, I think it's a matter of an individual's idiosyncrasies. What goes on in my mind when I think of e-juice might not be there for someone else. I just have a thing for anything I consume being sealed. A few companies that I've ordered from are now actually sealing their bottles with a plastic wrapping or a tamper proof sealed cap. Even that makes me feel better, knowing if the seal isn't broken then nobody could have tampered with it while it might have been sitting on some vendor's shelf or something.

I totally agree. When I first joined here and seen there was an area where you can trade juices you don't like after you've tried it my eyes got big.... I thought, really? Opened bottles from strangers? I can see if the bottles are sealed in a safety wrap with a manufacture date of when it was made....but opened? Some psycho might be find his way to these boards and decide yep I will buy a juice and put poison in it, then trade it to billy bob joe... A crazed serial killers playground! Not to mention what is Susie, the one you are trading with, is nasty, never washes her hands and just used number 2 and has hepatitis... Then she touches the spout where your liquid drips out! Yuck! I don't like taking those chances! I'd rather but new, unopened bottles!

Every plastic dripper bottle I've used could have the dripper taken out of it without touching it, just unscrew the cap, and while it's still over the tip, .... it to the side and downwards, it'll pop the tip right out. The tip will stay in the cap, then just screw the cap back on and the tip will pop back into the bottle. I've never even thought about pulling it out with my teeth.:D

EDIT: The forum must of thought I was saying something bad, replace that word with "bend" I guess, not exactly accurate, but should work.

Ha Ha! "stubbies"

I admit when I was younger I didn't care what went into my mouth. If I found a stubby and needed a smoke so be it. But the older you get the harder it is to recover from even the simplest things like common colds. These days I chronically wash my hands several times a day. Even when I shake someone's hand I feel the need to wash. That may make me neurotic but I haven't had a cold or the flu in many many years. I know that the PG in juice has some anti-bacterial properties to it but still, just the thought of it kind of gives me an upset stomach.

I grip the tip in a paper towel or napkin and roll it off the top...

That's good! But how do you know joe, bob or whoever you trade with doesn't have x virus and sneezed on the tip? Or they are just flat out nasty? I'm talking about the traders, not specifically you!

I do usually place a paper towel between the bottle tip and my teeth when I pop it off but I'm not really concerned about what I do, I'm more concerned about what others might do. I once lived with three roommates and one of them would leave his toothbrush in the shower to use, with three other guys taking showers in there. I couldn't believe he would stick that thing in his mouth. Uggggh.

Yeah, some things just strike the "gross" nerve, but luckily most of our bodies can easily fight that stuff off, otherwise we'd be in big trouble everytime we touched a door handle or telephone, both known for having fecal matter all over them. I understand when it comes to selling/trading e-liquid that it's a risk. You never know for sure what happened to it. I guess one either trusts the situation or not, hopefully there never comes a major incident.

Well the good thing about what goes on here is you can't sell anything through the classifieds unless you're verified first, so if some nuts wanted to poison people they would be leaving a trail to themselves. But still . . . I wouldn't want a stranger's juice, personally.

I have sold some juices - once - in the classifieds here on this board. They were very much coveted juices whose creator has a near fanatical following here. I had only used a few drops pf each bottle and they just were not for me. They sold very quickly to someone who actually lives fairly close to me geographically. But I have never purchased any "used" juices from anywhere tho I have swapped MANY bottles between family and friends :)
