Im a penny pincher. When your in college and top ramen is your main meal you think twice before spending 150 on a mod. Ive tried to find the best price for my ecig stuff but most often then not you get what you pay for. I had a friend who had a lavatube that didnt use it anymore so he offered it to me for 40 bucks. Since i havent owned a vv i jumped on it. One good thing is it came with alot of accessories. Carts, tips, batts, juice, and some atomizers i dont even know how to use. Well it had a wrap or skin on it so once i got it (i like the stainless look) i ripped it off and i know why he skinned it. It was scratched to hell. Doh! Should have asked if its bern dropped because it clearly has. At the time it would fire everytime so cosmeticly i wasnt worried as long as it worked. Alright a month later and now the button fires 50% of the time. Sorry had to vent a little. So my questions. Can you replace the lavatube button? By my self or sending it in? Has anyone bought something vaping related used and been disappointed? Now for my penny pincher questions...i know theres classys on forum sites but is there anywhere else to buy used or refurbished equipment online? How about a site with vaping deals on it? To solve my mod problem im saving up 50 a week and when i have enough im buying a reo. Vv reo if im lucky. Thanks for the help.
vape strong,
Braxton

i build my mods and know i can build a vv mod for under 20 with this Variable Volt Box Mod Kit - Variable Volt - Advanced PV's so with 2 batteries and charger you would spend about 40 and have a new mod and then find someone who can fix your mod. if a had a lavatube by me i would be able to tell you if i could fix one or not. best i could tell you is get a cheap vv like the one i posted and if you can't put it together i don't charge for my time only parts to build. i do test things i build and if i where to build one it would be the end of the month before it is ready to be shipped out.

I never buy used stuff. The VV Reo Grands should be out soon but while they should be really nice, they will cost upwards of $200 and probably be hard to get. If you can save up and snag one, you won't be sorry. If you're on a tight budget, a vv ego twist is reputed to be very good also. It comes with a built in battery so all you would need is a charger. they're cheap too...but cheap enough to toss when they stop working. Realistically, I'd rather have one good, quality device that I know will last and comes with good customer service when it needs repair. BUT.. if you need something in a pinch, the twist is something that you might can get now and then start saving.

Right now, madvapes has their vv box mod on sale for $30.99.. I've been using mine daily for months. BUT.. you would need a couple sets of 14500 batts, a charger and a voltmeter to set your voltage. That can all add up. BUT.. the voltmeter can be used with other devices ( I use mine on my vv reo, my madvapes box and my army tank) madvapes did have them but I can't find them on their site now. Anyway, just throwing you some ideas :)

I've always been the type to purchase items new, for me, the extra money to buy brand new is worth it. I have purchased a couple of things from the classies here on ECF, and was happy with my purchases. The kicker is, I was buying a used P+ 18650, and I new I'd be able to have it refinished by the folks at Super T for free.

Had the P+ not had the transferable lifetime warranty, I don't believe I'd have purchased it. Other than that, I'm not terribly comfortable purchasing high priced PV's off the classifieds. So depends on the situation, it's always a bit of a gamble buying used :)

Buying used is not always a bad thing, one of my favorite mods is a Saber Touch I picked here on the forum used for $50. However $40 for a used LavaTube from a "friend" who doesn't bother to tell you how hard it obviously had been used might not have been a wise buy.

When buying used never be afraid to ask question on amount of use and condition, deals can be found if you look around. Also look at the seller feedback.

Well, you need to understand that what you think you want now, you may not want soon... If you're not even sure of what equipment you have you may want to hold off on doing much until you know the EC world. It's EASY to dump a ton of $$ on things you think are good -- like any clearos -- or a bat style you later find doesn't meet your needs or look as cool at the club as you thought. If you're on a real tight budget you may want to go:

+lavatube you have
+ego+charger as backup
solid carto sytem (not clearo)
pick up ego twist (vv for $22) as your second vv (youll have the ego charger)
stock up some cash
play with clearos or the reo if you're solid on all things...

The ECF world can suck your money away in a heartbeat... if you go with a solid base of gear you'll be set and can pick up extras as you go

If you don't like the functionality of the reo or the cops are beating you all over the city 'cause it looks like you're part of the Breaking Bad crew, you won't have much to fall back on...

When it comes to vv stuff.... I'd get new so you don't have problems (or have a warranty).

If you can't manage that:

Inexpensive 3.7 volt stuff...particularly if it has a replaceable switch I could get parts for.... that I'd consider. Assuming it's a swappable battery type. Then... with an external charger and $5.00 batteries... I'd be all set using 2.0 ohm stuff.

And as was mentioned above... a soldering iron and solder is only about 13-25 bucks. Then you can make your own. VV kit was 18.00 and 5v kit is about 12.00 and a 3.7 is even less ($9.00). Add batteries and charger.
