I've bought Genuine KangerTech Coils (2.5ohm) there for $5.49 w/free ship, these were much better than the ones in the white box with a "Kanger" sticker (1.8ohm) & pre-priced $8. The latter were leaky & causing flooding, also caused all of my devices to run hot.
The genuine brand has had no leaks/floods so far & has ran much cooler, devices were barely warm to the touch. After success with the 1st box of 5, bought another.
Bought a multimeter that's supposed to arrive Friday at latest, for $7 shipped, to keep an eye on my IMR batteries. Local B&M stores wanted $16 & up.
Tonight just bought 2 more items that will save me a fortune on wicks, both Free Shipping.
1) 6 feet of 2mm High Quality Ekowool Braided Silica Wick ($8.94)
2) 100 foot roll of 32 gauge Kanthal A1 Wire ($4.68)
I've been an eBay member since February 2009, most of which were computer related accessories. There's been a couple of times that I got burned, but as other has noted, PayPal covered by back. Overall, I've had an excellent experience there.
The key is in not only feedback from customers, but researching what's being purchased. Feedback is good, but the one thing with that is the buyers are leaving either 1 star or 5 stars or are neutral. Many times, the customer leaves good feedback too soon (I've done this & learned from it). Oddly ,when I left negative feedback for a seller, I've been given the chance to retract it.
However, buyers doesn't have that chance on their own, what may look like a sweet purchase at first, may end up being a sour grape later. That's why the buyer should have some knowledge of what they're considering purchasing. My personal distributor showed me today how to rebuild or re-wick my own coils, which is why I bought the wire & wick. I'll need to grab a torch tomorrow to heat these up with.
Yes, one can save money on eBay, just shipping charges alone. But there's too many deals that are just too good to be true. Some are counterfeit items & there's tons of second rate merchandise out there. IMR batteries for example. One seller had a package of 2 AW IMR 18490 1100mah batteries for what most sites charges for one, plus free ship. Beware.
Kanger Pro Tanks, some sellers will show several pics of the real deal, but there'll be one picture that states "this is the item you'll receive". It won't have the KangerTech brand etched on it. See, this is how they get sellers, many doesn't pay attention to fine details.
Also, lots of eBay sellers says Genuine, but spells it "Geniuine" & there are other fine print misspellings in the description. By this, the seller didn't legally state "Genuine". It's up to you. the customer to figure these things out.
Like anywhere else, if the deal is way too good to be true, it usually is. And this isn't meant to be a bash of eBay, there are many honest sellers on the site whom works hard for their feedback. But there's fly by nights also.
I'm not certain how PayPal protection works when someone makes a e-cig or vaping related claim, but I've read that they aren't helpful when someone says "my tank is leaking & e-juice is getting in my mouth", or similar claims. eBay sellers prominently posts that their products aren't related to vaping, doesn't contain nicotine or tobacco, some will state they're for "aromatherapy".
Something that we all may need to research before firing off a claim.
