I really want to buy a buzz pro, but I'm worried about the build quality. I currently own an Infinity and love it, but I've had to fix it a few times, it was no problem. First thing that happened was the button sank in and was unable to press it, nothing a little epoxy couldn't fix. Then the positive lead from the brass cap over heated and I had to replace the wiring. Again a just replaced it myself, just soldered in a new wire. No problems here because I have all the equipment needed already, but for the price I was hoping for a little more quality. I know my warranty would have covered fixes or replacement. Which I'm sure I have Voided by doing the fixes myself, but not really worried about that, I can repair most problems myself if needed. Was just wondering if the new Buzz Pro is built better and tougher. Just in case anyone is wondering yes my Infinity is in perfect working order voltage tested and no problems anymore, but thanks to the fixes I've done. I've left everything serviceable just in case I need to preform any other fixes.

The Buzz Pro is designed very similar to the old buzz as far as build quality goes. The tubes are better, the caps are better, and it has a better controller. Beyond that it is very similar. The buzz design can take a SERIOUS beating.

The old infinity was a decent device. It did however have a few issues. Wheels set too high, connectors were troublesome, buttons came loose, caps came loose etc. Most were minor issues but nonetheless they were there. Fortunately Notcigs has awesome CS and they fixed these issues upon request for people.

You will not see these build problems in the Pro series.

Okay, I got one:

The flat machined into the side of the tube for the button location.

It looks like it was plunge-cut with a center-cutting end mill or spot facer. The abrupt edges of the steps, top and bottom, are sharp; mine has a small burr left on it. The anodizing is beginning to wear off one edge already.

My suggested fix for future production: have the shop make this flat using an end mill with chamfered corners. A 0.060" chamfer will do the job (my flat is 0.040" deep) and leave beveled edges instead of a 90° step. You may want to compensate for the reduced face diameter by bumping the cutter diameter to 5/8".

I can live with s/n 020 the way it is, but IMHO this detail could and should be improved.

Your humble opinionated customer,

Well it seems that what happened is that they did NOT Deburr them this time before anodizing !! ???? I agree a custom end mill would be best and I will pass that on AGAIN ! I could have it flat cut across so it is not round but that would look funny .

Shouldn't the shot blasting knock off the burrs?

I thought It would but apparently not ! they built all of the old Buzz tubes and we never had this happen ??? over sight on my suppliers part obviously !
I just sent them an email about it with an updated drawing stating NO SHARP EDGES !

Are you guys talking about the indent where the button is??? If so mine is not too sharp. I have no problems with mine or my husbands buzz pro! Battery life seems to rock (the hubby still hasn't changed his since saturday morning, but he does not vape as much as I, he is however down to about 4 stinky sticks a day and as he smokes less stinkies he is vaping more) My end caps work for the on/off and they are both smooth and beautiful! The purple is even growing on me... I am thinking of using that purple color for the next website or print ad I design!

My moms buzz does have the on/off issue, but hers is chrome and she doesn't know it is supposed to turn off, so all is good.

Bring on the infinity pro and VVPV!

Yeah the on/off is a super minimal issue. Honestly if the light wasnt on I probably wouldnt care in the least. Hits perfectly, works perfectly, and looks awesome.

My old Buzz is lookin sweet with new chrome caps on it as well :p

Chamfered-corner end mills are easy to find these days, especially the 45° type.
Harvey Tool Co. makes a wide variety of them with different widths and corner angles.

A simple plunge cut is quick to make, qucker usually costs less.
Milling a traverse flat has more of a potential of creating unwanted tool marks.

This is a Flat on a round tube a end mill will not do it ! it has to be done manually or by blasting / tumbling

For the OP i have been using the buzz pro non stop its got a great feel and finish its solid great clicky button and the adjustable volts via the wheel is awesome that with the safety features and its a drippers paradise!

The quality feels second to none !!Now Back to vaping my self silly at 5.3 volts!

My only minor complaint would be the button is quite small but really its such a small issue its does not take away from everything else

Also for the OP : I bought my original Buzz used and beat the living H311 out of it. it's survived months in the field in texas heat living the life of a gunners go to PV, and now it's a quarter of the way through an Afghanistan deployment no worse off than a few scratches. I liked it enough to buy a Pro, but that's just my 2 cent.
