It just sounds silly to me and almost like a ploy to trick people into thinking they HAVE to have it if its so hard to get.
If you investigated the history of this issue or took time to see the many stellar members here that have respect for don, you probably wouldn't say such things. I consider myself not only a customer... but a friend to the guy and I assure you... had he been able to put a few aside for a friend, he would have... but I never bothered to beg... because I knew how great the demand was and how short the supply was...
It's just a flavor... not nectar from the gods... but it is somewhat unique... as many BWB flavors are... it turns out that the majority of the flavorings of his most popular juices come from really small and/or unique flavoring vendors... because when he started doing this... it was a small operation for himself and a few friends... which grew into a small ordering site from the classies... and eventually into a website etc...
Part of what makes BWB so desirable is the fact that many of the juices don't taste like all of the other juices... know what I mean?
After vaping for a year or so, you begin to notice that so many of the vendors use the same caramel or vanilla or tobacco base etc... so, BWB is a breath of fresh air for many because
it's different... and if you happen to like it... you are in luck.
I also get somewhat annoyed at the comments that aim to give analysis of his business model... sure, he aspires to make some money... but that's obviously not his chief concern... if it were, he'd exclusively use easy to acquire flavorings that he could buy in bulk at a discount... and he'd buy the cheaper nic and base... His chief concern has always seemed to be... making people happy or making the best juice he could. He wouldn't be in business otherwise... this is the backwoods, not wall street.
So while his prices are in line with many others, he does have bigger inventory bills than many... this his profits aren't what they could be if he were
the kind of guy that "artificially" inflated demand... the guy that would do that would also be the same guy that used the same flavorings as 50% of the vendors out there and try to pass it off as different... or unique.
...and he does get a little snappy when provoked... defensive is the better word for it... and he is smart enough to know that this isn't the best way to keep all of the customers happy... but again... because he does strive in his professional and personal life to be ethical, kind and honest, every criticism is felt deeper... he is who he is.
Don isn't a guy who could easily detach his pride from his practices...
Insult his juices... but when you insult his practices... I am sure it hurts... it probably hurts him to think his product(s) or practices inspire such malicious thoughts or behavior...
I knew something like this was going to happen... during the month(s) that he was getting his website up... I even shared this concern with him... I said it will be different when 500+ different people start reviewing you... now you have a dedicated 75-100... but Don is such an optimist... well he was anyway... hope he still is.
ECF and the world of vaping and suppliers is growing exponentially and people seem to be losing patience when they can't get what they want right away.
...and some folks don't appreciate or remember how cool it was when these mom and pop e-juice companies started springing up...
maybe only the strongest will ultimately survive... but that doesn't always mean that the best will survive.
here in my hometown... wilmington, de... it's tough to find restaurants and stores that aren't national chains... sure, I can get whatever I want as fast as I want... but the people selling it don't know much about it and the quality and the variety has been compromised.
