Caliburn A3 vs. Vuse device (Tobacco industry) battery life

Hi

I switched from Vuse (Big Tabacco) to Caliburn A3 and I have to say that I much prefer vaping with Caliburn A3. It tastes much better (not quite all liquids - but most).

But unfortunately the battery life of the Caliburn A3 is much worse than that of the Vuze devices. The liquid is also used up much faster, I have to refill it much more often. I often have to charge it during the day (battery).

Am I doing something wrong? Do others have similar experiences?

Thank you

The Caliburn is drawing more power. A 1.0 Ohm pod will draw a little less power than a 0.8 Ohm pod & the battery will last a bit longer. The higher power for the more powerful coils is why you're using up liquid more quickly than w/ a Vuse. That's also part of why it's more flavorful.

Not only the resistance of the coil, but also the wattage of the mod can affect battery life. Set the power output to the lowest value that gives you a satisfying vape. As far as juice consumption, lower power will use less juice, but even buy commercially made juice is far cheaper than the Vuse refills. To save even more money, you could learn to DIY your own juice.

The greater the resistance of the coil, the greater the power consumption. Is that correct?

No, it's the exact opposite. Lower resistance coils use more power.

    What is a mod?

A mod is the device which provides power. In the case of the Caliburn A3, it is an all in one system that powers an brand specific pod, thus is a pod device. There are also mod pod devices which can power a pod, or can be used with an atomizer. A true mod is used with an atomizer only.

don't think I can set the wattage on the Caliburn A3? There's no knob or anything

You are right. The Caliburn A3 is a fixed power device. In order to get more battery life, you would have to choose a higher resistance coil. This could change your flavor profile, though. You will need to find the right resistance that tastes good for you. For more customization, for your next device, you would want something that allows you to change the wattage as well a offering different resistance coils. For the ultimate in customization, there are mods with external batteries along with an RBA, which allows a person to build their own coils to their own liking. But before that advanced step, you should try a mod with drop in coils, similar to replacing the pod in the Caliburn A3, but only the coil is replaced, not the whole atomizer. An example by Uwell (makers of your Caliburn A3) is the Crown IV.

I was going to post earlier, soon after you posted your question about mods and coil resistance, but I was called away. I see Territoo posted an answer, nearly exactly what I was gonna say, but it seems to me that that was a good thing. My answers are sometimes questionable..
