Seriously why do people live in Totalitarian states like California and New York? I mean come on they are trying to ban Happy Meals, Sodas, and anything thing else that might bring joy to someones life. To me, the banning of eCigs was a foregone conclusion in those places.

Because we like it here and the weather is great.

So what if we can't vape inside buildings and all that crap. I've been a smoker for 8 years im used to that already.

State senate voted on Friday. There's little press but was reported here.

Capitol Alert: California Senate votes to regulate e-cigarettes

This should come as no surprise to anyone.

I vape, as I had smoked. I vape in full consideration of others, which is relative to everything I do.

To the uninitiated (non-smokers), Vaping will appear to be just as foul a habit as burning tobacco. As an ex-smoker, I fully appreciate and understand this stance. As such, for myself, this was never a battle worth fighting.

Due to greed and unnecessary opportunity/profit, smoking and vaping will never be abolished. In a nut shell, the Vapers' fight will be waged on the battle grounds of our ability to have access nicotine/juices and all that is related to the said.

The bill has passed the Senate, but it has not passed the House yet.

There is a huge thread about this in the Legislative News subforum...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...use-e-cigarettes-wherever-smoking-banned.html

It's MUCH worse than just restaurants and bars.

How do you feel about vaping being banned at the beach? In public parks? Within 20 feet of all doors and windows?

The bill discussed in this thread bans vaping EVERYWHERE that smoking is banned.
And it specifically includes vaping in ANY future smoking bans as well.

I have no issues with smoking/vaping bans, as I have already prepared myself for these impending events. As smokers and vapers are in the minority, these actions were a foregone conclusion for multiple reasons, which are beyond our control and/or input, unfortunately.

So being in the minority means you should have no rights?!? Good thing you were not part of the civil rights or women's rights movement. Vaping should not be banned based on appearance, at least not as long as people can pick their nose in public, or as long as 350lb women can can wear spandex in public because those things are really gross to see. Now if someone can prove that vaping is a health risk to those around the vaper, THEN we can have public bans. Until then it's all a gross over reach of power pressing down on your individual rights.

No, being that I understand that we are in the minority . . . Mix that together with the anti sentiment(s), BT's endless dollars, and the politics, one would discern where efforts and resources are better positioned for an engagement, no?

Many battles have been fought and lost, due to the lack of focus. In every victory there are concessions. To proceed otherwise is to insure defeat.

What you don't seem to realize is that by sitting back and allowing vaping to be lumped in with analogs it opens vaping up to any future analog regulations including complete and utter banning. Now that California has been able to lump them together, all they have to do is ban cigarette sales anywhere in the state and vaping is auto banned by proxy as well.

In politics the best way to accomplish something that the majority will oppose is to tie it to something the majority will support. We have to make sure that vaping is not tied to something the majority would like to see permanently banned....aka analogs.

Been against the law to vape in a public place in Utah for two years now, and I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about it.

I don't want to smell your cherry vanilla vapor anymore than I want to smell someone's cigarette smoke while I'm eating dinner with my family in a nice restaurant, however give law makers an inch ...............! Next will come taxes, then internet sales, and then limits on what is even available.

That is exactly what we are afraid of. While I can understand how you feel about the cherry vanilla vapor, I also feel the same way about many people's cologne and perfumes. Some people wear that stuff to the point it is overwhelming to be anywhere near them. I was in the grocery store the other day with my wife and some woman walked past us and her perfume was so strong I could literally taste it when I tried to breathe through my mouth. While I dislike it, I would support her right to wear it until my dying day.

What are you willing to concede? And.. what aren't you? I am not going to sit idly by while they tax internet sales to the point where we will have no choice but to buy BT'S inferior product. I am willing to concede not vaping in enclosed spaces.. but a damn park?!? I'm not going to vape around a group of children but I'm claiming my 4 feet of vaping air space.
