I listened to the audio.

Sen. Leno made a hit and run appearance.

The American Cancer lobbyist spluttered his way through the usual stuff you'd expect from a lackey paid by an organization that receives a LOT of dollars from pharmaceutical companies.

Greg Conley of the American vaping Association did an excellent job!

Yeah, when Conley pointed out that the ACS and their lobbying arm receive massive funding from Pfizer, I could almost see the deer in the headlights look on the ACS guy's face, and what was his comeback? "yeah, well, where does your funding come from?"

Zoid, couldn't agree more... but... the ONLBP is a required stage we must go through :) ... kinda like the 5 stages of grief (pun is intended more than I'd like).

My read of this appears to be a retread of the Corbett bill SB648.... marks ecigs as 'tobacco products' and applies the same restrictions on them as cigarettes, including banning vaping in apartments and the like. Perhaps a certain "organization for normalization of m..... laws" will write a letter and kill this one too.

I also recall, from that fight, that things didn't get actionable until the appropriate committees pick it up (but don't count me an expert here... I'm far from it). Here's the status from leginfo.ca.gov:

...

I reluctantly agree.

And that is why I have be Patiently (and at Times, Not So Patiently) waiting for the ONLBP to End.

Because there is a Brief Window between the ONLBP and the TGOTTDASDP (Thread goes Off Topic to Die a Slow Death Phase).

I wanted to see if I could Catch in-between these Two Phases.
