Call 911! I need a battery doctor!

I've had my 510 Yeti for a little over 3 weeks. Last week, right after my 14 day warranty passed, one of my manual batts bit the dust. It appears to be charged when connected to the charger, and the LED lights when the button is depressed, but it won't activate any of my 3 attys. Contacted my supplier and we're working on it. :(

Anyway, I was limping along with my second manual battery and 1 auto (which I DO NOT LIKE) while waiting for my replacement batteries that I ordered to arrive.

This morning, I attached my fully charged manual battery to my favorite atty and after about 10 - 15 minutes, I'm getting absolutely no vapor, no sizzle from the atty, nothing. I look at it and the LED is blinking like the battery is dead. But it shouldn't be. It was fully charged last night and not used again until this morning. So I put it on the charger, and the charger light goes red which indicates the battery is pulling a charge, right? That was over 30 minutes ago and it's still red so it's still charging.

Now, here is my question. Why would both of my manual batteries die (or start to die) so soon? I know all parts are consider "consumable," but less than a month of use on both of them? I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong. :nah:

I read through the sticky on "The Truth about batteries" but didn't find anything that would pertain to early battery death.

I'm using the wall charger supplied with my kit to charge them. I followed the manufacturer's instructions on charging when they arrived (which was charge for 8 hours, use for 20 minutes, charge for 1 additional hour) which I now read may/may not be necessary, depending on who you believe.

I recharge them when vapor/throat hit decrease enough to irritate me which is usually after 1 1/2 to 2 hours (depending) and leave them on the charger until the one I'm using needs to go on the charger (about the same amount of time), and I just keep rotating them that way. Sometimes I leave them in the charger longer, but usually never less than 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The light is always green when I remove them.

I also have a PCC that I'm using to recharge them/keep them charged when I'm out. I do take it out of the PCC and use it while the charge light is red on the PCC and then put it back in when I'm done, but isn't that the purpose of the PCC?

So if any of you battery experts out there can see something that I'm doing wrong, please tell me quick.

I ordered replacement batteries that should be here today, and I don't want to mess them up.

I'm so frustrated.

The ironic thing is that in the past I would jump at a chance like this to start smoking again, but this time, I don't even want an analog. I just want my Yeti and I want it to work.

First, check the batt with a volt meter.

If you have voltage at the contacts, Check the center contact. Sometimes the contact will get pushed back from tightening the battery too much on the charger. The center contact is mounted with a rubber ring. I get a small hook in the center hole, and gently pull, and rock it until it raises up to the surface. Too much pull or twist will break the wires, so it must be gentle.
