Calling All Gus Mod Users

Constant safety questions but can anybody help me. When using the Gus tubular mods with the fuse. Do any of you check out if the fuse works by performing a deliberate short??
Should I check my fuse out? And what is the best way? Thanks

Hmmm. Intentionally trying to trip your mod fuse... What if it doesn't work, and you hard short your battery? I guess you'll find out if that single vent hole in the fire button really works or not. Doesn't sound like something I'd want to try at home.

@Baditude Man I'm rather thick. Just thought about it. The fuse is rated to 12 amps. I could just build a .3 or .2 with a VTC4 and it should blow. Right

How about, aim to not blow yourself up? I mean the whole point of vaping is to not hurt yourself, the fuse is there as ADDED protection, which means your first line of defense is your own smarts. Follow battery safety, make sure their wrappers are intact, and build within the limits of your battery. Get an ohm meter, build on that and check the resistance, then pop the top cap on and check it again. If the resistance is the same, your coils should be all good spaced in there and not touching any metal, then just wick and go.

I don't build low but you may have failed to read my 3rd post. A .3 maybe .2 build, accounting for sag, would mean that you would be safe enough to use a vtc4 and blow the fuse. My experiment failed but one of the guys from Gus emailed back and told me that it is a slow blow fuse. 2 secs to trip.

Like "Towel Boy"? His build was so low his mech was too hot to hold bare handed, so he always held it in a towel. He unintentionally blew his battery up on camera. You Tube quickly took the video down after too many complaints, but Towel Boy will forever live in infamey.

Some things we have to take for granted. Like fuses working as they should.

IMO, safety practices are like layers. Knowledge, observation skills, common sense, hot springs, safety fuses, a Kick, ventilation holes. The more layers you have, the safer you should be.
