Can’t decide between the Grand and the Mini 2.1. Ideas?

I’m flip-flopping between purchasing a Grand or a Mini and can’t seem to make up my mind. I like the smaller form factor of the Mini very, very much. But, I also like the longer battery life and bottle size of the Grand. I also have several 18650s on hand, but no 18500s for the mini.

I’ve spent quite some time reading forum messages (which have been so, so, SO helpful – I feel like I know what it’s like to use one even though I have not yet had the pleasure) but have not come across any "wish I bought a Mini instead of a Grand" stories (or vice versa).

So, my roundabout question: does anyone regret purchasing a mini instead of a grand?

Now, my Mini leaning is also predicated on my assumption that the 2.1 Mini will use any rba that would work on a Grand due to the larger juice well in the 2.1. Is that a correct assumption?

Thanks!

PS: While the option of "just buy both" solves all issues and holds great appeal to me, the Powers that Be of the household make that a non-starter.

Thanks all! Northernshrink -- I didn't see that thread in my reading, and it was great. Lots of comparo pictures that solidified that the mini is what will fit my needs. Lostknitter -- appreciate the confirmation about the RBA.

Now the really tough decision -- color! Keep changing my mind on that everytime I look at the options available. But at least I have my list of extras to buy (bottles, spring, button cap -- not sure I need that, but figure I'd give it a shot) so progress is being made.

I consider myself a moderate vaper. A grand will 95% of times last me 2 full days before noticing any significant change in vapor and flavor, so I've grown accustomed to just switching batteries every 2 days.

When I used my Woodvil 18490 (same battery as the mini 2.1) I noticed the difference after about a day and a half. So I'll probably get in the habit of switching batteries every morning if I'm using that one.

If you're a moderate vaper, buy 2-3 18490 batteries, and don't mind switching them every morning I think you won't regret getting the mini 2.1 if portability is a priority.

Shortcut: get both eventually for easy switching between two of your favorite juices :D . You can always keep your favorite and easily sell the other on classifieds for the original price if you took good care of it.

there is no wrong option. If you get a mini, you'll love it and dream of grands. If you get a grand, you'll love it and dream of minis. People think that REOs are infused with a secret formula that makes you crave more of them.

In reality, they are just so easy to use, so hassle free and vape so well that you want more because you cannot imagine vaping offa something else.

I started with minis and recently got some grands to accommodate larger RBAs. Now you can get a mini that will accept them too.

Both offer the same awesome quality vape, one just has more battery capacity and larger bottle. The grand is not much bigger than a mini.

If i could go back to when I bought my first REO, I would probably get a grand because I like the larger bottle, even though the mini bottle lasted all day as did the battery. Again, a grand is only marginally larger than a mini.

You cannot make a wrong decision here and will likely always want to buy whatever one you don't already have.

THIS is the crux of the whole dilemma! They're both awesome and whichever one you get, you'll want the other sometime down the road. Ha.

FWIW, I started with a mini and loved it. Even bought a 2nd one for backup. But the siren call of all day long vaping without changing bottles or batteries (I vape around 5ml a day) drew me irresistably to the grand. I now have 2 grands and 2 minis. The grand isn't nearly as much larger than the mini as you would think (I did the models too, but you have to actually hold and use them to tell).

Nowadays, I vape one of my grands for a couple of weeks, until I think it needs a bath, then I switch to the other grand. I keep the 2 minis and their batts for backup and dutifully recharge the batts every 2-3 months.

I generally always have the grand in my shirt pocket when not vaping it, and honestly have no problem with the size. Your mileage may vary, but I found I never regretted upgrading to the grand. I wish I had gone with the grand first, but I console myself by designating the minis as "backup" :) .

This is coming from a new Reo owner, so take it for what it's worth haha. I was in the same boat a couple weeks ago..."Grand or Mini?" I ended up getting the Grand and instantly fell in love. The battery lasts me a full 2 days of moderate-heavy vaping and the 6mL bottle about the same (maybe a little longer). However, just last night, I order a Mini 2.1. I couldn't get the idea out of my head of having a more pocket friendly version of the best PV I've ever used, so I just went ahead and ordered one. From what I know of the Grand, and from what everyone says about the Minis, I honestly don't think it matters which one you choose. You'll be back...I know I was.

Before my initial purchase I too had the same dilemma. Let's put it this way, I have yet wished I had the mini instead of the Grand.

My apologies, this post looked good in preview. Guess I should have not used my phone.

Just recently faced the same decision. I already have a square back grand and it is my favorite PV. Was trying to decide whether to get a second one with the rounded back or a new 2.1. Decided on the 2.1 to try out. I figured with them being new it would be easy to trade for a grand if I find it too small. Harder to get my chosen color though in a trade, luck of the draw and all. It would be a harder decision if I didn't already have several REO's. Can't lose either way though!

I have a Grand and a 2.1 coming in... I used to have my Woodvill 18490 (same bottle and battery of 2.1) for my normal use. If you vape 3 or less ml a day for shure get a 2.1; battery will last all day long, you have a smaller device with same vape feeling of a grand, just recharging night time.
If you are an hevy vaper (>3 ml a day) go for a Grand, get a kick so tou will have same battery size WHEN you will buy the 2.1!!
Instead of buying both I will suggest to buy one of them and a Chalice RBA... really an unbeteable combination in vaping today.
