Can an iphone wall plug be used to charge ego batteries?

I have a couple of ego batteries and a usb charger. I know there's a wall adapter available for times when you're not near a USB port, but I was wondering if I could just use my iphone's wall adapter. It's basically just a small little cube with a USB connection on 1 end and a plug for the wall on the other.

I know those adapters sometimes have different electricity specifications and I don't wanna use it and end up damaging the batteries. So if anyone has any idea, I'd appreciate some input.

I use that to charge my Ego-T batteries on the ground floor of my house in order not to climb stairs all the time where my main wall charger is...No problem at all! No battery damaged, everything goes smoothly.

I had problems with it and trying to use my PT with it. It would charge, but once you started using it I think it tripped the fault protection (or something) as the button flashed. Removed the cord and it worked correctly again.

I just plugged my PT 1000 into one and it is working just fine. Generally USB is all standard 5V 0.5A. I've got a bunch of old wall chargers for phones with mini-usb that I will also use with my batteries from time to time and I've never had a problem.

And it will work a passthru, which the <1A chargers don't

If it is rated < 2amps, I would avoid running a normal (no inline battery) passthrough on it. The math doesn't work right, as even a 3 ohm carto draws 1.67Amps (1670 mA) at 5V.

If it does work it is likely doing so by a voltage sag, instead of 5V it is outputting lower voltage until it can drive the PT. This is overstressing the power supply.

A sit-and-go or similar pass-through, with built-in battery, is different. Those are generally okay to use, since they actually have a charger in them (you are really vaping the battery, with the battery being topped-off by the power supply).
