I can solder, I can use a VOM, I've removed and added surface mount components, I can diagnose most any electrical problem, home, car, mower, etc., but when it comes down to pin outs on components, without step by step instructions, I'm hosed! I've modified CB's and scanners and am a licensed HAM operator, so I get the basics. But I'm BROKE!!
I've fallen in love with VV, but what I can afford will not survive long with my lifestyle! I've seen the "Kick" but don't feel the need, have the money, for a new Silver Bullet to put it in! I thought about the Bolt, but by the time I buy a Kick and extensions, I can get a Vmax. I love the Provari, but $200 is out of reach for me!
So I get to thinking, scary, I know! I LOVE my BB! The size is nice, it's all but bullet proof, why not find a way to utilize it?
I'm not after adjust ability, get me between 4.2-4.5v and I'm happy! I know the battery life will be somewhat short, I'm good with that, size or function, it's a trade off I'm willing to take, for now at least.
I've seen this, http://www.madvapes.com/variable-voltage-regulator-board-kit-rev-3.html but I've no idea how big it is or if it would fit inside, but I doubt it!
I recently had it apart, due to me being an idiot and leaving a carto on it too long, and repaired it. So I'm thinking a PCB where the black insulator/pos battery contact is should be a good placement?
Does this sound like something doable? Think one of you smart people, or several of you, could talk me through such a transformation? Am I just out of my mind for thinking of this?
Thanks all!
