Long time lurker, first time poster here. I've been smoke free for a little over 3 months now. I started vaping a year ago and fell off the wagon for a few months but this time I think I'm finally done with analogs for good.

I've been using the eGo 1000 mah twists, and regular 650's as backups, with the mini vivi nova for the past three months and think I'm ready to move up to something a bit more permanent. I think I've narrowed my choice down to either a BB or Legacy Mini. For those who have these devices, can you please comment about your likes, dislikes? I'm looking for something that is not huge, not too expensive and will last a while. The whole battery thing has me a bit nervous but I an definitely see the benefits of them vs. the disposables I have been using. I realize neither is VV but I think I'm ok with that. Although I would love to own a Provari, it's just not in the budget right now.

All comments and opinions welcome! Thanks.

I have a BB and for the most part I do love it, however the downside. Because the BB is a 14500 battery, if at some point you decide to use a kick the BB won't take one, where the Legacy will. Also one of the things with either the SB or the BB is the center post getting pushed down, again not an issue with the Legacy due to the fact you can completely adjust the center screw. Like you I had looked at both, and while I do like the BB I wish I would have went with the Legacy.

Thank you! How long does the battery last on the bb? The legacy mini?

ok I can't tell you exactly how long they will last, I can tell you with the BB I had 3 of the 14500's in daily rotation. But being as I am a chain vaper I do tend to drain batteries faster and it is never a good idea to let them run completely down. As to the legacy mini I really can't tell you.

1-Stock photo to show small size. 2-BB with a Bella Elegance acrylic tank matched with a Phiniac pyrex tube. 3-BB with custom pyrex tank. 4-BB with a Smoktech Titan (Vivi clone). 5-My Provari, Silver Bullet, and BB - all with IBTanked pyrex tanks.

The BB and Silver Bullet were my first big-battery mods. I just recently added a Provari to the family.

Although I use the Provari probably 75% of the time since I got it, the BB still gets used the other 25%. It's just a great size for when I am out and about. It's nicely manufactured with silky smooth threading and a great easy to find power switch (which acts as a vent during a battery failure). Extremely durable, built like a tank like its big brother the Silver Bullet, yet is extremely light. It's small enough to easily stealth vape should you ever be in that situation.

The 700 mAh 14500 AW IMR batteries I use in it can last most of the day, depending upon how heavy I hit it. They are the same size as a AA battery, so its easy to carry an extra. And it hits just as hard as the Silver Bullet. I love this little black baby bullet.

AltSmoke provides fast delivery (I got mine about 3 days after ordering) and great customer service. The BB required a switch replacement during warranty and Chad replaced it free of charge within a few days of my returning it. I feel confident that should it ever need repair again that I won't be without it for very long.

I don't know much about the Legacy line from PureSmoker. You probably can't go wrong with them as I believe any American-made PV is likely to perform well, be well-manufactured, and provide excellent customer service. I did notice on their website that these need to be pre-ordered with an expected delivery of 2-3 weeks. I also see it is a bottom-activated power switch - I personally don't think I'd like that, but that's just me.

Either the BB or Mini Legacy should serve you well and I believe you'd be happy with either one...until you can afford that Provari

PS: If you use the IMR, high drain class batteries along with a low resistance coil, you'll get real close to the experience of high voltage vapor.

Have you had problems with the center pin with your bb?
None, but if you go to the AltSmoke forum, some people have with certain devices like the earlier Vivi Nova tanks.

See AltSmoke's "Chad" (he's the creator and repair guy of AltSmoke's mods) explain in post #4 here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/altsmoke/321897-sb-fail.html

The BB is basically a smaller version of the Silver Bullet, with the exception of different power switches. Everything else is remarkably the same, including the center pins.

I like my BB and my SB a lot, but I've gotten spoiled to variable voltage (VTube) and bottom feeding (Reo), so I use my VTube and Reo more than my BB. Here's a photo that shows a BB next to some other devices just for size comparison.

I love my Reo. It gives you all the benefits of dripping without any of the hassle or mess. I didn't get it either until I bought one. In fact, I wasn't even looking for one, but that one was being sold to raise money for a cancer benefit so I bought it. Now I get it.

Another advantage to the Reo's (other than the VV Reo models) is that they are 100% mechanical - no electronics. So, when I want to clean it, I take the battery out and rinse the whole thing in the sink. Try doing that with a Twist!! :D

Oh, and there are Reo's for sale on the classifieds here on ECF quite often, and you can buy them for $100 or so (sometimes less). When I bought mine, it had been beat completely to hell and all the way back, and it works perfectly. They can take a beating, so I wouldn't worry about buying a used one.

The VTube uses one 18650 battery, so no stacking.

I'm using a Kicked Legacy Standard ... I'm just waiting on Cash's "Black Friday" sale at the end of November to get my Mini. I just love the Legacy ... it's a VERY solid SS all-mechanical mod. With just reasonable care (weekly cleaning), I would expect this to last me for years. It works just fine un-Kicked (I have the extension tube which allows me to use the Kick with an Aw IMR 18650), and the same extension tube would allow you to use either an 18500 or a Kicked 18350 with the Mini. The Legacy really feels good in the hand; the media-blasted finish is almost exactly the same as my SS satin ProVari. The build quality and threads on the Legacy are outstanding ... just Noalox the threads and they will be, as PBusardo puts it, buttery, buttery smooth!

I have no experience with the BB or the Silver Bullet, but I can—and do—wholeheartedly recommend the Legacy, both Standard and Mini.

Any idea when this Black Friday sale is gonna kick in? I really want to grab a standard sized legacy with a kick but I've been on the fence -- a sale would probably make it a simple choice for me! Do you think it will be on the friday after thanksgiving or maybe a few days before? I dont wanna be late and find everything is sold out...

Here's what Cash had to say ... apparently, Thansgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday, whatever that means.
