Can anyone confirm that these are actually protected 10440s?

Don't buy from BestOffer, folks have had trouble with them in the past. What ever you buy you want it to be clearly identified.

With the TrustFires it seems that the LC10440's are unprotected and the TR10440's are the protected versions.

I was told the mod needs 10440
What is this 'mod'. Many of the commercial/Chinese PV's use unprotected (the mod itself has a protection circuit), note protected versions are longer so there may be fit issues.

mad vapes has them, they are indeed protected, I've played with them and at least short circuit protection is working lol. I ordered last monday and got them thursday. They aren't really 600mah, more like 350ish but all 10440s are around there, this is why madvapes lists them as 350 but when you get them they say 600 on the side. Protected Trustfire 10440 Battery, 350 mAH

Agree with all the stuff willyb said except LC stands for Lithium Cobalt (still li-ion but different chemicals used) on the ultrafire and trustfire batteries and the protection circuit is specific to the battery and *usually* specified on the battery label but not always..

Madvapes carries 10440 protected Ultrafires which are superior to the Trustfires. Currently they are the same gray color, which may explain why Madvapes accidentally gave me Trustfires instead of Ultrafires in my last shipment. So, I sent them back.
The general consensus on DE and many other places is that trustfire are more reliable than ultrafire. Is this a subjective statement or do you have evidence to back up your statement? I have many of each and personally I find trustfire more reliable.

The flashlight fanatics at CPF also prefer the Trustfires.

I'm one of those flashlight geeks; from a tiny 90lumen 10440 to my monster $150 24w HID blind stick. I probably have 50 flashlights :| You never know when it will be dark! :p now I have vaping and making mods to bleed my wallet :D
